Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

New Insights into the Roles of Yes-Associated Protein (YAP1) in Colorectal Cancer Development and Progression [PDF]
Yes-associated protein (YAP1), the downstream effector of the Hippo pathway, plays important roles in the regulation of tissue reconstruction, stem cell proliferation, and development of different cancers.

Targeting long non-coding RNAs as new modulators in anti-EGFR resistance mechanisms [PDF]
Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) is a cell surface protein that plays a vital role in regulating cell growth and division. However, certain tumors, such as colorectal cancer (CRC), can exhibit an overexpression of EGFR, resulting in uncontrolled ...

EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

LncRNAs in ocular neovascularizations
The prevalence of eye diseases worldwide is dramatically increasing and represents a major concern in underdeveloped and developed regions. Ocular diseases, previously associated with a higher depression risk, also impose a substantial economic burden on affected families, thus early detection and/or accurate treatment in order to avoid and prevent ...

Small RNA pathways in mammalian oocytes
Three distinct small RNA pathways operate in mammalian oocytes: RNAi interference (RNAi), the microRNA (miRNA) pathway, and the PIWI‐associated RNA (piRNA) pathway. These pathways use small RNAs to guide sequence‐specific repression and contribute to oocyte biology by targeting genes and mobile elements or appear insignificant since different ...

Los ARNs no codificantes largos y su vinculación con las patologías testiculares
Si bien la porción del genoma destinada a la síntesis de proteínas es muy pequeña, actualmente se sabe que casi todo el genoma se expresa bajo forma de ARNs no codificantes.
