Comparison of multipoint linkage analyses for quantitative traits in the CEPH data: parametric LOD scores, variance components LOD scores, and Bayes factors [PDF]

open access: yesBMC Proceedings, 2007
Abstract We performed multipoint linkage analyses with multiple programs and models for several gene expression traits in the Centre d'Etude du Polymorphisme Humain families. All analyses provided consistent results for both peak location and shape. Variance-components (VC) analysis gave wider peaks and Bayes factors gave fewer peaks.

The effect of ascertainment on penetrance estimates for rare variants: Implications for establishing pathogenicity and for genetic counselling.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2023
Next-generation sequencing has led to an explosion of genetic findings for many rare diseases. However, most of the variants identified are very rare and were also identified in small pedigrees, which creates challenges in terms of penetrance estimation ...

Transducers Across Scales and Frequencies: A System‐Level Framework for Multiphysics Integration and Co‐Design

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Transducers convert physical signals into electrical and optical representations, yet each mechanism is bounded by intrinsic trade‐offs across bandwidth, sensitivity, speed, and energy. This review maps transduction mechanisms across physical scale and frequency, showing how heterogeneous integration and multiphysics co‐design transform isolated ...

Changes of grey matter volume in first-episode drug-naive adult major depressive disorder patients with different age-onset

open access: yesNeuroImage: Clinical, 2016
Objective: Little is known about the pathological mechanism of early adult onset depression (EOD) and later adult onset depression (LOD). We seek to determine whether grey matter volume (GMV) change in EOD and LOD are different, which could also ...

Two-point and multipoint LOD scores obtained from stratified analysis.

open access: yes, 2013
Only chromosomes with a maximum multipoint LOD score >2 are shown. LOD score thresholds of 2 and 3 are indicated by the blue and red lines, respectively.
