Complement inhibition enables tumor delivery of LCMV glycoprotein pseudotyped viruses in the presence of antiviral antibodies

open access: yesMolecular Therapy: Oncolytics, 2016
The systemic delivery of therapeutic viruses, such as oncolytic viruses or vaccines, is limited by the generation of neutralizing antibodies. While pseudotyping of rhabdoviruses with the lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus glycoprotein has previously ...

Severe congenital chorioretinitis caused by congenital lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus infection

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Ophthalmology Case Reports, 2021
Purpose: To describe a case of congenital lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus (LCMV), a potentially severe and under-diagnosed etiology of congenital chorioretinitis. Observations: A 5-month old boy presented with esotropia.

Hantavirus and Arenavirus Antibodies in Persons with Occupational Rodent Exposure, North America

open access: yesEmerging Infectious Diseases, 2007
Rodents are the principal hosts of Sin Nombre virus, 4 other hantaviruses known to cause hantavirus pulmonary syndrome in North America, and the 3 North American arenaviruses.

Lymphocytic Choriomeningitis Virus Infections and Seroprevalence, Southern Iraq

open access: yesEmerging Infectious Diseases, 2020
Acute febrile neurological infection cases in southern Iraq (N = 212) were screened for lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus (LCMV). Two LCMV IgM–positive serum samples and 2 cerebrospinal fluid samples with phylogenetically distinct LCMV strains were ...

Mouse-to-Human Transmission of Variant Lymphocytic Choriomeningitis Virus

open access: yesEmerging Infectious Diseases, 2007
A case of lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus (LCMV) infection led to investigation of the reservoir. LCMV was detected in mice trapped at the patient's home, and 12 isolates were recovered.

Host Range and Genetic Diversity of Arenaviruses in Rodents, United Kingdom

open access: yesEmerging Infectious Diseases, 2008
During a study to extend our knowledge of the host range and genetic diversity of arenaviruses in Great Britain, 66 of 1,147 rodent blood samples tested for antibody, and 127 of 482 tested by PCR, were found positive. All sequences most closely resembled

Envelope Exchange for the Generation of Live-Attenuated Arenavirus Vaccines. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS Pathogens, 2006
Arenaviruses such as Lassa fever virus cause significant mortality in endemic areas and represent potential bioterrorist weapons. The occurrence of arenaviral hemorrhagic fevers is largely confined to Third World countries with a limited medical ...

Lymphocytic Choriomeningitis Virus Meningitis, New York, NY, USA, 2009

open access: yesEmerging Infectious Diseases, 2010
We describe a case of lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus (LCMV) meningitis in a New York, NY, resident who had no apparent risk factors. Clues leading to the diagnosis included aseptic meningitis during winter and the finding of hypoglycorrachia and ...

Trace-Forward Investigation of Mice in Response to Lymphocytic Choriomeningitis Virus Outbreak

open access: yesEmerging Infectious Diseases, 2014
During follow-up of a 2012 US outbreak of lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus (LCMV), we conducted a trace-forward investigation. LCMV-infected feeder mice originating from a US rodent breeding facility had been distributed to >500 locations in 21 states.

PD‐L1‐Binding Antigen Presenters: Redirecting Vaccine‐Induced Antibodies for Cancer Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The PBAP‐gE complex anchors gE antigen to PD‐L1 on tumor cells. Vaccine‐induced anti‐gE antibodies simultaneously engage FcγRIIIa on NK cells and tumor‐bound PBAP‐gE, triggering NK cell activation and antibody‐dependent cellular cytotoxicity, thereby selectively eliminating PD‐L1–expressing tumor cells.
