Lysophospholipids in the limelight [PDF]
Lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) is a serum phospholipid that evokes growth factor–like responses in many cell types through the activation of its G protein–coupled receptors. Although much is known about LPA signaling, it has remained unclear where and how bioactive LPA is produced. Umezu-Goto et al.

This review reconsiders the amyloid cascade by placing lipid dynamics at its core. It shows that free lipids, governed by critical micellar concentration, act as pathological chaperones that redirect amyloid aggregation toward membrane‐damaging species.

Lysophospholipid (LPA) receptors in GtoPdb v.2021.3
Lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) receptors (nomenclature as agreed by the NC-IUPHAR Subcommittee on Lysophospholipid Receptors [55, 19, 82, 129]) are activated by the endogenous phospholipid LPA.

Bioconjugation Strategies for Revealing the Roles of Glycerophospholipids in Cells
Glycerophospholipids are the main class of phospholipids, essential for membrane structure, compartmentalization, and cellular signaling. To study their roles, innovative probes and advanced bioconjugation strategies have been developed, including by de novo lipid synthesis and bioorthogonal conjugation chemistry.

Phospholipase A2 (PLA2), a dormant enzyme, becomes lethal when activated—collapsing lungs in minutes. Our dual therapy (DOPS + varespladib) boosts survival from 0% to >90% in sepsis/ALI. A breakthrough for acute lung injury treatment. ABSTRACT This study reveals that phospholipase A2 (PLA2), normally stable and nontoxic, can be activated specifically ...

Advancing design strategies in smart stimulus‐responsive liposomes for drug release and nanomedicine
Schematic illustration of stimulus‐responsive liposomes designed for controlled drug release and nanomedicine. The innermost circle represents different liposomal structures, including unilamellar, multilamellar, and multivesicular liposomes. The middle layer illustrates the responsive phospholipid components.

Lysophospholipid Metabolism and Signalling in Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease
Non-alcoholic liver disease (NAFLD) constitutes a global health pandemic. It is estimated that about 25% of the world’s population suffers from NAFLD. In the long-term, a subgroup of the patients can develop inflammation and fibrosis.
