Prognosis After Surgical Resection of M1a/M1b Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma [PDF]
This study was undertaken to examine prognosis after resection for M1 disease in squamous cell esophageal carcinoma. Fifty-six patients with M1 esophageal cancer underwent esophageal resection with two or three-field nodal dissection from 1994 to 2001. Operative mortality occurred in 3 patients. Primary tumor sites were as follows; 10 upper, 23 middle,

ALKBH3-dependent m1A demethylation of Aurora A mRNA inhibits ciliogenesis
Primary cilia are antenna-like subcellular structures to act as signaling platforms to regulate many cellular processes and embryonic development. m1A RNA modification plays key roles in RNA metabolism and gene expression; however, the physiological ...

Programmable RNA N6,2´‐O‐Dimethyladenosine Editing
ABSTRACT N6,2’‐O‐dimethyladenosine (m6Am) is a prevalent RNA modification located at the first transcribed nucleotide adjacent to the 5′ cap of mRNAs, where it has been implicated in gene regulation. However, the lack of methods for precise, transcript‐specific manipulation of m6Am has limited its functional dissection.

RNA structural profiling of Turnip Yellow Mosaic Virus by DMS‐MaPseq and DREEM analyses uncover that viral genome‐wide RSS is highly complicated and heterogeneous, with alternative RSSs widely distributed across the genome. Notably, the viral 3’ tRNA‐like structure adopts alternative conformations in vivo.

Toward a geometric analogue of Dirichlet's unit theorem [PDF]
In this note, we propose a geometric analogue of Dirichlet's unit theorem on arithmetic varieties, that is, if X is a normal projective variety over a finite field and D is a pseudo-effective Q-Cartier divisor on X, does it follow that D is Q-effective ...

With a purpose of constructing a robust evolution system against numerical instability for integrating the Einstein equations, we propose a new formulation by adjusting the ADM evolution equations with constraints.

The prognostic value of the log odds of positive lymph nodes (LODDS) across BMI categories was investigated in patients undergoing colorectal cancer resection. The exploratory evidence demonstrates that LODDS serves as a strong prognostic marker, and its adverse effect may be more pronounced in patients with higher BMI.

Abstract Germany's Renewable Energy Sources Act (REA), enacted in 2000 and subsequently amended, subsidized national renewable energy production with fixed feed‐in tariffs for renewable energy sources (RE) from wind, solar, and biogas. Empirical studies suggest that the policy was creating windfall effects for landowners and attribute farmland use ...

PPM1A Controls Diabetic Gene Programming through Directly Dephosphorylating PPAR?? at Ser273 [PDF]
Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPAR gamma) is a master regulator of adipose tissue biology. In obesity, phosphorylation of PPAR gamma at Ser273 (pSer273) by cyclin-dependent kinase 5 (CDK5)/extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK ...
