Salsolinol as an RNA m6A methylation inducer mediates dopaminergic neuronal death by regulating YAP1 and autophagy

open access: yesNeural Regeneration Research
Salsolinol (1-methyl-6,7-dihydroxy-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline, Sal) is a catechol isoquinoline that causes neurotoxicity and shares structural similarity with 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine, an environmental toxin that causes Parkinson ...

METTL3-mediated m6A modification of TIMP2 mRNA promotes podocyte injury in diabetic nephropathy

open access: yesMolecular Therapy, 2022
Epigenetic changes are present in many physiological and pathological processes. The N6-methyladenosine (m6A) modification is the most common modification in eukaryotic mRNA.

Hepatocyte BPGM Induces RET Lactylation and Macrophage Reprogramming to Promote Tumorigenesis in Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mechanistic schematic diagram.BPGM promotes the expression level of RET by increasing the lactylation of RET‐K549 and inhibiting its ubiquitination levels in HCC cells. Furthermore, BPGM in HCC cells could also promote M2 polarization in macrophages through lactate secretion. Both of the mechanisms could promote the progression of HCC. ABSTRACT Aerobic

Link Between m6A Modification and Cancers [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology, 2018
N6-methyladenosine (m6A) epitranscriptional modification has recently gained much attention. Through the development of m6A sequencing, the molecular mechanism and importance of m6A have been revealed. m6A is the most abundant internal modification in higher eukaryotic mRNAs, which plays crucial roles in mRNA metabolism and multiple biological ...

Circ-ZNF609 Is a Circular RNA that Can Be Translated and Functions in Myogenesis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Circular RNAs (circRNAs) constitute a family of transcripts with unique structures and still largely unknown functions. Their biogenesis, which proceeds via a back-splicing reaction, is fairly well characterized, whereas their role in the modulation of ...

Elevated TRIM25 Impairs Poly (ADP‐ribose) Metabolism via PARG Degradation and Mediates Compression‐Induced Intervertebral Disc Degeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
TRIM25 acts as a multifunctional hub driving intervertebral disc degeneration under mechanical stress. Mechanical compression significantly upregulates TRIM25 expression, establishing it as a key E3 ubiquitin ligase platform. TRIM25 targets PARG and Ku80 via distinct molecular interfaces, triggering their ubiquitination and degradation.

m6A-Mediated IRS1 Regulates the Development of Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma through p53/Line-1 Signaling

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioscience-Landmark
Background: The importance of N6-methyladenosine (m6A) modification in tumorigenesis and progression have been highlighted. This study aimed to investigate the modification of insulin receptor substrate 1 (IRS1) by m6A and its role in oral squamous cell ...

m6A RNA methylation regulators predict prognosis and indicate characteristics of tumour microenvironment infiltration in acute myeloid leukaemia

open access: yesEpigenetics, 2023
Patients with acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) have poor prognoses and low overall survival (OS) rates owing to its heterogeneity and the complexity of its tumour microenvironment (TME).
