AbstractThe high productivity of mangosteen and its utilization in various industries produce the mangosteen peel as a waste of the process. Mangosteen peel as a lignocellulose‐based material has great potential to be utilized as a biosorbent, especially in the separation process of wastewater pollutants.

Characteristics and anticancer properties of bacterial cellulose films containing ethanolic extract of mangosteen peel

Bacterial cellulose (BC) films containing an ethanolic extract of mangosteen peel were prepared and their physical, chemical, and anticancer properties were characterized. The cumulative absorption and release profiles of bioactive compounds in the films were determined based on total phenolic and α-mangostin content.
