An Unusual Oxidative Rearrangement Catalyzed by a Divergent Member of the 2‐Oxoglutarate‐Dependent Dioxygenase Superfamily during Biosynthesis of Dehydrofosmidomycin

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 134, Issue 30, July 25, 2022., 2022
DfmD is a highly divergent member of the 2‐oxoglutarate‐dependent dioxygenase superfamily that catalyzes desaturation, rearrangement and demethylation of its substrate. In vitro biochemical studies and homology modeling suggest that these transformations occur via novel chemistry.

Dried blood spots for doping controls—Development of a comprehensive initial testing procedure with fully automated sample preparation

open access: yesBiomedical Chromatography, Volume 37, Issue 8, August 2023., 2023
Abstract Currently, primarily urine, whole blood and serum samples are analyzed for doping‐relevant substances in professional sports, but recently dried blood spots (DBS) have been introduced as complementary matrix, offering advantageous features, e.g. a minimally invasive sampling procedure.

Analysis of doping control samples using supercritical fluid chromatography‐tandem mass spectrometry: Ready for routine use

open access: yesJournal of Separation Science, Volume 46, Issue 7, April 2023., 2023
Supercritical fluid chromatography is proving to be a good separation and sample preparation tool for various analytical applications and, as such, has gained the attention of the anti‐doping community. Here, the applicability of supercritical fluid chromatography hyphenated to tandem mass spectrometry for routine doping control analysis was tested.

Unassisted Switchable Dual-Photoelectrode Devices Utilizing p-n Carbon Quantum Dots as "Semiconductor Electrolytes": Optimization Between H2O2 and Solar Electricity Production. [PDF]

open access: yesAdv Sci (Weinh)
p‐n type carbon quantum dots (N‐CQDs) are designed as a conceptually‐new “semiconductor electrolyte” to develop a self‐driven photoelectrochemical cell that can be switched to optimize between H2O2 production and electricity generation under visible‐light illumination with water and O2 as reaction reagents.
