Biolipid Film‐Fused Electrochemiluminescence for Multipurpose In Situ Bioassays
An ECL‐emissive, membrane‐interactive scaffold was fabricated, and facilely fused with natural and non‐native phospholipids into multifactorial mimicries of cytomembranes and vesicles for in vitro representative membrane‐process probing. Such a biointerface‐based, state‐sensitive ECL paradigm not only pinpointed proximal phenomena, including channeling

Vitamin D-2 modulates melittin-membrane interactions
In the present work, mutual interaction of melittin, a pore forming hemolytic toxin from bee venom, and vitamin D-2, an antioxidant steroid, with dipalmitoyl phosphatidylcholine (DPPC) multilamellar liposomes has been investigated.

Stimuli‐responsive strategies to achieve controlled release of protein‐based therapeutic agents into solid tumors. Proteins, enzymes, and peptides have long been recognized as valuable therapeutic agents, particularly in oncology. However, their complex chemical structures render them more sensitive than smaller chemotherapeutic drugs.

Multi‐Omics Analyses Elucidate the Venom Components of the Wasp Vespa mandarinia
The wasp Vespa mandarinia was widely reared in Yunnan province. The venom was responsible for their aggressive behavior. Tweety proteases, hyaluronidase, venom dipeptidyl peptidase 4, and phospholipase A1 and A2 isozyme were identified. In addition, organic heterocyclic compounds, organic acids, and derivatives were found.

Griffithsin, Brevinin‐2, and CCL20 were identified as potent MERS‐CoV fusion inhibitor candidates targeting the HR2 domain through integrated molecular docking, MD simulations, and MM/PBSA analyses. These peptides demonstrated superior binding stability and favorable safety profiles compared to the standard inhibitor, supporting their potential as ...

Melittin: a membrane-active peptide with diverse functions [PDF]
Melittin is the principal toxic component in the venom of the European honey bee Apis mellifera and is a cationic, hemolytic peptide. It is a small linear peptide composed of 26 amino acid residues in which the amino-terminal region is predominantly ...

Experimental design and behavioral outcomes of bee venom treatment in a murine model of Parkinson's disease. Mice received an intrastriatal injection of 6‐OHDA into the right hemisphere to induce dopaminergic degeneration. Animals were subsequently treated with l‐DOPA/carbidopa, with or without bee venom (BV) administered intraperitoneally.
