HypertensionThe meningeal lymphatic system is critical for proper brain waste clearance and maintenance of the local meningeal neuroimmune niche. Meningeal lymphatic function is impaired during aging and neurodegenerative diseases and is associated with the development of cognitive impairment.

Subdural hematoma (SDH) drains into the extracranial lymphatic system through the meningeal lymphatic vessels (mLVs) but the formation of SDH impairs mLVs. Because vitamin D (Vit D) can protect the endothelial cells, we hypothesized that Vit D may enhance the SDH clearance.
