An endogenous aryl hydrocarbon receptor ligand induces preeclampsia‐like phenotypes in rats

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, Volume 603, Issue 2, Page 579-594, 15 January 2025.
Abstract figure legend An endogenous AhR ligand (ITE) elevates maternal blood pressure and proteinuria in pregnant rats, and decreases uteroplacental blood flow and fetal and placental growth, all of which are hallmarks of preeclampsia. ITE also reduces vascular density, alters immune cell distribution and fetal sex‐specifically disturbs transcriptomes

Hydroxysteroid sulfotransferase 2B1 affects gastric epithelial function and carcinogenesis induced by a carcinogenic agent

open access: yesLipids in Health and Disease, 2019
Background A healthy gastric mucosal epithelium exhibits tumor-suppressive properties. Gastric epithelial cell dysfunction contributes to gastric cancer development.

Lack of WDFY4 leads to impaired immune response and poor cancer prognosis

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 38, Issue 22, 30 November 2024.
This study used R language and multiple databases to jointly analyze the role of WDFY4 in cancer. Our analysis found that the WDFY4 gene and protein are differentially expressed in human tumors. WDFY4 causes prognostic differences in different directions in certain cancers.

The effects of polycyclic aromatic compounds (PACs) on mammalian ovarian function

open access: yesCurrent Research in Toxicology, 2022
Polycyclic aromatic compounds (PACs) are a broad class of contaminants ubiquitously present in the environment due to natural and anthropogenic activities. With increasing industrialization and reliance on petroleum worldwide, PACs are increasingly being

Monocrotophos induces the expression and activity of xenobiotic metabolizing enzymes in pre-sensitized cultured human brain cells. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
The expression and metabolic profile of cytochrome P450s (CYPs) is largely missing in human brain due to non-availability of brain tissue. We attempted to address the issue by using human brain neuronal (SH-SY5Y) and glial (U373-MG) cells. The expression

Mechanism of p53-dependent Apoptosis Induced by 3-Methylcholanthrene

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 2002
Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) such as 3-methylcholanthrene (MC) cause untoward effects including carcinogenesis. Here we investigated the effect of MC on apoptosis. MC induced apoptosis, preceded by serine 15 phosphorylation and accumulation of

Imaging‐Based Efficacy Evaluation of Cancer Immunotherapy in Engineered Tumor Platforms and Tumor Organoids

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, Volume 13, Issue 27, October 28, 2024.
The imaging‐based cancer immunotherapy evaluation platform facilitates systematic assessment of treatments through suitable in vitro models that closely mimic the human immune system. These evaluation methods enable a more precise and personalized approach in the development of cancer immunotherapy. Abstract Cancer immunotherapy is used to treat tumors

A method for measurement of nanogram quantities of 3-methylcholanthrene in stool samples.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1984
The carcinogen 3-methylcholanthrene can be produced from deoxycholic acid and is postulated by some investigators to play a role in the pathogenesis of colon carcinoma. The small quantities of this compound which could be carcinogenic have been difficult

Induction of tyrosine aminotransferase in mice is inhibited by activated metabolites of ortho- aminoazotoluene

open access: yesВавиловский журнал генетики и селекции, 2015
Aminoazo dyes and other hepatocarcinogenic substances inhibit glucocorticoid-mediated induction of adaptive enzymes, including tyrosine aminotransferase (TAT), in mouse and rat liver. There is a specific relationship between the effect of a carcinogen on

In vitro malignant transformation by methylcholanthrene of the progeny of single cells derived from C3H mouse prostate.

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America, 1970
Cell lines derived from C3H mouse ventral prostate grow to a monolayer, do not pile up, and do not give tumors on inoculation into isologous mice.
