Chlamydial induction of hydrosalpinx in 11 strains of mice reveals multiple host mechanisms for preventing upper genital tract pathology. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
The female lower genital tract is constantly exposed to microbial infection, some of which can ascend to and cause pathology such as hydrosalpinx in the upper genital tract, which can affect fertility.

Age-Related Reference Intervals of the Main Biochemical and Hematological Parameters in C57BL/6J, 129SV/EV and C3H/HeJ Mouse Strains [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
BACKGROUND: Although the mouse is the animal model most widely used to study the pathogenesis and treatment of human diseases, reference values for biochemical parameters are scanty or lacking for the most frequently used strains.

Radiation-induced myeloid leukemia in murine models. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The use of radiation therapy is a cornerstone of modern cancer treatment. The number of patients that undergo radiation as a part of their therapy regimen is only increasing every year, but this does not come without cost.

Occurrence of Urinary Calculi in Inbred Strain (C3H) of Mice Treated with Estrogen

open access: yesExperimental Biology and Medicine, 1939
SummaryUrinary calculi occurred in 33.1% of the 151 strain C3H male mice treated with estogren, and in 4.1% of 96 controls. The highest incidence was noted in mice 5 months of age or older, which had received from 9 to 20 weekly injections of 100 rat units. The calculi appeared at an earlier age in the treated animals.

Site specific mutation of the Zic2 locus by microinjection of TALEN mRNA in mouse CD1, C3H and C57BL/6J oocytes.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
Transcription Activator-Like Effector Nucleases (TALENs) consist of a nuclease domain fused to a DNA binding domain which is engineered to bind to any genomic sequence.

Immunochemical analysis of antigenic properties of MH134 ascitic hepatoma [PDF]

open access: yes, 1965
According to the data obtained in this experiment by means of the geldiffusion technique, the specific antigen was not detected in MH134 ascitic tumor, comparing the anti-C3H liver sera with anti-MH 134 tumor sera, though a loss of organ specific antigen

Helminth Parasites of Conventionally Maintained Laboratory Mice: II- Inbred Strains with an Adaptation of the Anal Swab Technique

open access: yesMemorias do Instituto Oswaldo Cruz, 1998
Worm burdens recovered from inbred mice strains, namely C57Bl/6, C57Bl/10, CBA, BALB/c, DBA/2 and C3H/He, conventionally maintained in two institutional animal houses in the State of Rio de Janeiro, RJ, Brazil, were analyzed and compared, regarding their
