Intratumoral Microbiota in Tumor: Current Understandings and Future Perspectives

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 7, July 2026.
Intratumoral bacteria are emerging as active regulators of cancer evolution rather than bystanders. This review outlines how tumor‐resident microbes drive tumor initiation and growth by inducing genomic instability, epigenetic reprogramming, oncogenic signaling, and chronic inflammation, while promoting metastatic spread via invasion, angiogenesis ...

Genomic Analysis of Inbreeding Depression on Productive Traits in Rubia Galega Beef Cattle Breed

open access: yesJournal of Animal Breeding and Genetics, Volume 143, Issue 4, Page 508-523, July 2026.
ABSTRACT In autochthonous livestock breeds with small populations, such as the Rubia Galega from Galicia (Spain), mating between relatives is common and can lead to inbreeding depression. Genomic inbreeding coefficients were estimated for 4984 animals using ~63,000 SNPs to assess inbreeding depression in four key traits: age at first calving (AFC) with

Novel Biomaterial‐Based Synovial Fluid Analysis Reveals Protective microRNA Signatures in a Mouse Model of Acute Synovitis‐Driven Osteoarthritis

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 12, 30 June 2026.
We successfully established a novel method for collecting synovial fluid in the murine knee joint using Tetra‐slime. Acute synovitis led to secondary cartilage degeneration in the early stage of OA, which might be attributed to the increase of MMP‐3, TNF‐α, and M1 macrophage activation in the synovium.

Small Extracellular Vesicles from Neural Cells: Physiological and Pathological Roles, and Potential in Neurodegenerative Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, Volume 15, Issue 21, 5 June 2026.
Neural cell–derived small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) are emerging as pivotal mediators in neurodegenerative diseases, exerting both pathogenic and therapeutic functions. This review synthesizes current evidence on how sEVs from distinct neural cell types regulate neurodegeneration, neuroprotection, biomarker discovery, and targeted drug delivery ...

Aptamer‐Based Delivery Systems for VEGF and NGF Modulation in Ocular Therapies

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, Volume 15, Issue 23, 19 June 2026.
Aptamer‐based delivery systems targeting NGF and VEGF hold significant potential for precise and sustained treatment of complex diseases affecting both the anterior and posterior segments of the eye. This review critically summarizes current strategies for NGF and VEGF delivery as well as VEGF sequestration, providing a clinical perspective on how ...

Exploring the Potential of Zero‐Dimensional Carbon Nanomaterials in Photoluminescent, Electrochemiluminescent and Electrochemical Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 13, Issue 11, 9 June 2026.
Zero‐dimensional carbon nanomaterials are presented as multifunctional platforms linking structure, property, and sensing performance. Surface engineering and heteroatom doping modulate electron‐transfer and luminescent behavior, enabling electrochemical, photoluminescent, and electrochemiluminescent detection. Fundamental design principles, analytical

Hypoxia‐induced miR‐210‐3p expression in lung adenocarcinoma potentiates tumor development by regulating CCL2 mediated monocyte infiltration

open access: yesMolecular Oncology
In most cancers, tumor hypoxia downregulates the expression of C‐C motif chemokine 2 (CCL2), and this downregulation has been implicated in monocyte infiltration and tumor progression; however, the molecular mechanism is not yet clear.
