Rat liver, liver homogenates, and microsome fractions separated therefrom were examined systematically in the electron microscope in sections of OsO4-fixed, methacrylate-embedded tissue and pellets. It was found that most microsomes are morphologically identical with the rough surfaced elements of the endoplasmic reticula of hepatic ...

The composition of rat liver microsomes. The structural proteins of rat liver microsomes [PDF]
1. The structural-protein component of microsomal membranes was isolated by three separate methods. Analysis by polyacrylamide-gel electrophoresis indicated that the microsomal structural component is made up of a heterogeneous group of proteins. These proteins were further characterized by their phospholipid-binding capacity.

EFFECT OF TRYPSIN ON LIVER MICROSOMES [PDF]
The effect of trypsin on the morphology of the rat liver microsomal fraction isolated by differential centrifugation has been investigated. The microsomes were incubated at 37°C and centrifuged thereafter under the conditions of their initial isolation.

Characterization of Frequency-Dependent Material Properties of Human Liver and its Pathologies Using an Impact Hammer [PDF]
The current methods for characterization of frequency-dependent material properties of human liver are very limited. In fact, there is almost no data available in the literature showing the variation in dynamic elastic modulus of healthy or diseased human liver as a function of excitation frequency.

Microsomal Esterase of Rat Liver [PDF]
Abstract Rat liver microsomal esterase has been purified 254-fold by a combination of solubilization in a mechanical cell homogenizer, acetone and ammonium sulfate precipitations, and hydroxylapatite column chromatography. The enzyme hydrolyzed glyceryl 1-monodecanoate at a rapid rate; the Km is 1.61 x 10-3 m.

Digitoxin metabolism by rat liver microsomes [PDF]
Background: Malnutrition among hospitalized patients increases length of stay (LOS) and carries extra hospitalization costs. Objective: To review the impact of malnutrition on hospital LOS and costs in Europe. Methods: PubMed and Google Scholar search. All articles from January 2004 until November 2014 were identified.

Metabolism studies of paeoniflorin in rat liver microsomes by ultra-performance liquid chromatography coupled with hybrid quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UPLC-Q-TOF-MS/MS) [PDF]
To explore metabolism mechanism of paeoniflorin in the liver and further understand intact metabolism process of paeoniflorin, a rapid, convenient and effective assay is described using ultra-performance liquid chromatography coupled with hybrid ...
