Anti-endothelial cell antibodies in pathogenesis of vasculitis

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
Vasculitis is a group of syndromes characterized by inflammation, presence of autoantibodies and endothelial cells (ECs) damage, which lead to stenosis or occlusion of the vascular lumen. Anti-endothelial cell antibodies (AECAs) are a heterogeneous group

Microvascular Endothelial Cell Culture.

open access: yesJournal of Investigative Dermatology, 1989
Microvascular endothelial cells play a central role in inflammation, tumor metastasis, and wound healing. Methods to study these processes in vitro using cells isolated from adult skin, from the inner and the outer segments of the neontal foreskin, and from experimental animals are reviewed.

Japanese encephalitis virus-associated human microglia induce cell death of human microvascular endothelial cells in receptor-independent infection

open access: yesFrontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology
IntroductionThe neurotropic virus Japanese encephalitis virus invades the human central nervous system, inducing neuroinflammation and further disruption of the blood-brain barrier.

Mechanistic Pathogenesis of Endothelial Dysfunction in Diabetic Nephropathy and Retinopathy

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology, 2022
Diabetic nephropathy (DN) and diabetic retinopathy (DR) are microvascular complications of diabetes. Microvascular endothelial cells are thought to be the major targets of hyperglycemic injury.

Effects of Fullerenols on Mouse Brain Microvascular Endothelial Cells [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Molecular Sciences, 2017
Fullerenols, water-soluble C60-fullerene derivatives, have been shown to exert neuroprotective effects in vitro and in vivo, most likely due to their capability to scavenge free radicals. However, little is known about the effects of fullerenols on the blood–brain barrier (BBB), especially on cerebral endothelial cells under inflammatory conditions ...

Post-acute ischemic stroke hyperglycemia aggravates destruction of the blood-brain barrier

open access: yesNeural Regeneration Research
[INLINE:1] Post-acute ischemic stroke hyperglycemia increases the risk of hemorrhagic transformation, which is associated with blood-brain barrier disruption.

The Influence of Capsaicin on the Integrity of Microvascular Endothelial Cell Monolayers [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Molecular Sciences, 2018
Microvascular endothelial cells are an essential part of many biological barriers, such as the blood–brain barrier (BBB) and the endothelium of the arteries and veins. A reversible opening strategy to increase the permeability of drugs across the BBB could lead to improved therapies due to enhanced drug bioavailability.

Effect of glucocorticoids on lncRNA and mRNA expression profiles of the bone microcirculatory endothelial cells from femur head of Homo sapiens

open access: yesGenomics Data, 2015
Appropriate gene expression patterns form the basis for bone microvascular endothelial cells' function in femoral head. Although previous studies have elucidated the impact of glucocorticoids on these cells' specific gene expression the exact ...

Efficient co-isolation of microvascular endothelial cells and satellite cell-derived myoblasts from human skeletal muscle

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology, 2022
Vascularization of tissue-engineered constructs remains a key challenge in the field of skeletal muscle tissue engineering. One strategy for vascularizing organoids is in vitro pre-vascularization, relying on de novo assembly of undifferentiated ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.
