Midazolam in Paediatric Anaesthesia [PDF]

open access: yesAnaesthesia and Intensive Care, 1982
Midazolam was given intravenously to 100 children over the age of 8 years to induce anaesthesia and a similar control group was anaesthetised with diazepam. The actions of midazolam in children were found to be similar to those of diazepam. Midazolam acted more quickly in children than has been reported in adults.

Assessment of Pharmacokinetic Drug Interaction of Asciminib with Atorvastatin in Healthy Participants

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology in Drug Development, EarlyView.
Abstract Asciminib is the first BCR::ABL1 inhibitor that Specifically Targets the ABL Myristoyl Pocket (STAMP) in patients with chronic myeloid leukemia. This phase 1, two‐treatment‐period, drug‐drug interaction study evaluated the effect of steady‐state asciminib on the pharmacokinetics of atorvastatin.

Propofol versus Midazolam for Upper Gastrointestinal Endoscopy in Cirrhotic Patients: A Meta-Analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
Background Sedation during gastrointestinal endoscopy is often achieved using propofol or midazolam in general population. However, impaired protein synthesis, altered drug metabolism, and compromised hepatic blood flow in patients with liver cirrhosis ...

Advancing Predictions of Oral Drug Absorption, CYP3A4 Induction, and Transporter‐Mediated Interactions Using a Human Primary Intestinal 3D Model (EpiIntestinal™)

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
Accurate prediction of oral drug absorption in humans is essential for early drug development; however, physiologically relevant human models are lacking. This study aims to comprehensively assess the EpiIntestinal™, a human primary intestinal 3D model, for its ability to predict oral absorption (Fa), intestinal availability (Fg), CYP3A4 induction, and

Evolving Real‐World Data and Evidence Use for New Drugs and Regenerative Medical Products Approvals in Japan—An Analysis of the 6‐Year Trend

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
Several regulatory initiatives have been made to clarify the acceptability and requirements of real‐world data and real‐world evidence (RWD/E) for the benefit/risk assessment of new medical products in Japan. The objectives of this review were to characterize the use of RWD/E in regulatory applications of new medical products and to describe the ...

Initial Population Sampling Influence on Multi‐Objective Optimization Based on Differential Evolution and Bayesian Inference

open access: yesInternational Journal of Circuit Theory and Applications, EarlyView.
This study focused on reducing the simulation counts required for circuit sizing by optimizing the initial population selection in evolutionary algorithms. We investigated the impact of different sampling methods on the efficiency of multi‐objective optimization based on differential evolution and Bayesian inference, a leading algorithm in circuit ...
