Evaluation of the Use of a Medium Cut‐Off Dialyser Theranova 400 for Severe Metaldehyde Intoxication in Three Dogs: Dialytic Clearance and Therapeutic Response

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 2, March 2026.
Three dogs with severe neurological signs from acute metaldehyde intoxication were treated with emergent haemodialysis using a medium cut‐off (MCO) dialyser. Neurological signs resolved within a single 4‐h session without adverse effects. Dialytic clearance of metaldehyde was 12.5 times higher than intrinsic clearance, demonstrating the clinical ...

Effect of Diet Neutral Detergent Fibre Content on Dry Matter Intake, Nutrient Digestibility, Growth Efficiency and Carcass Characteristics of Finishing South African Mutton Merino Wether Lambs

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 2, March 2026.
Feeding South African Mutton Merino lambs low‐NDF lucerne hay diets improved nutrient digestibility, energy utilisation, growth efficiency, and carcass quality. Despite lower intake at the lowest NDF level, fibre digestibility and feed conversion improved, indicating that highly digestible, low‐NDF finishing diets enhance lamb growth and carcass traits.

Effects of different carbohydrate sources on activity of rumen microbial enzymes and nitrogen retention in sheep fed diet containing recycled poultry bedding

open access: yesJournal of Applied Animal Research, 2018
In a completely randomized design, 15 male Moghani sheep were fed to determine the influence of supplementing recycled poultry bedding (RPB) with different carbohydrate sources on the activities of rumen hydrolytic enzymes and nitrogen retention.

Coupling Nitrogenous Organic Wastewater Treatment and Biorefinery via N‐Cycling Bacterium

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 7, 3 February 2026.
The vast reservoir of nitrogenous organic pollutants in industrial wastewaters can serve as untapped carbon‐nitrogen resources. This study employs the newly discovered Paracoccus sp. ZQW‐1 as a versatile chassis to simultaneously achieve N‐methylpyrrolidone (NMP) wastewater depuration and polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) synthesis.

Adaptation of Wild Asian Seabass (Lates calcarifer) to Artificial Feed in Cage Culture: A Case Study

open access: yesAquaculture, Fish and Fisheries, Volume 6, Issue 1, February 2026.
ABSTRACT This study investigates the adaptation strategy of wild Asian seabass (Lates calcarifer) to artificial feed in an open floating cage over a period of 360 days. A total of 1800 wild seabass with an initial length of 19.91 ± 0.26 cm and a weight of 72.85 ± 3.94 g was stocked at a density of 15 fish per m3 in 60 m3 cages and subjected to two ...

Comparing the effect of different carbon sources on growth, blood parameters, immunity, and water quality in Nile Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) cultured in a biofloc system

open access: yesAquaculture Reports
Aquaculture faces significant challenges in maintaining water quality and fish health. This study evaluated the effects of different carbon sources on growth, immunity, and water quality in Nile tilapia (initial weight: 2.8 ± 0.002 g) cultured in a ...
