Influence of ω-conotoxin on morphine analgesia and withdrawal syndrome in rats

European Journal of Pharmacology, 1992
The effect of omega-conotoxin on opiate analgesia and withdrawal syndrome was investigated in rats. omega-Conotoxin given i.c.v. and i.p. caused weak analgesia in the tail-flick test. When the toxin (20 ng/rat) was given i.c.v. immediately before morphine (1.5 micrograms/rat i.c.v.) the resultant analgesic effect was additive.

Neurotransmitter Mechanisms of Morphine Withdrawal Syndrome

Bulletin of Experimental Biology and Medicine, 2009
Activity of the major neurotransmitter systems in the brainstem and cerebellum was studied in rats with morphine withdrawal syndrome. The most significant changes were found in the brainstem of animals by the 36th hour and 7 days after morphine withdrawal.

Clonidine suppresses methylxanthine induced quasi-morphine withdrawal syndrome

Pharmacology Biochemistry and Behavior, 1982
The effects of the alpha-2 adrenergic agonist, clonidine, on the "quasi-morphine withdrawal syndrome" (QMWS) were examined in drug naive rats. The QMWS was induced by combined systemic administration of iso-butyl-methylxanthine (IBMX: 15 mg/kg, IP) and naloxone (1 mg/kg, IP).

Dextromethorphan attenuates morphine withdrawal syndrome in neonatal rats passively exposed to morphine

European Journal of Pharmacology, 2002
We had previously found that co-injection of dextromethorphan, an antitussive drug and a non-competitive NMDA receptor antagonist, with morphine into dam rats throughout the pregnancy period could attenuate the naloxone-precipitated morphine withdrawal syndrome in their offspring.

Disulfiram attenuates morphine or methadone withdrawal syndrome in mice

Behavioural Pharmacology, 2018
Taking opioids is often accompanied by the development of dependence. Unfortunately, treatment of opioid dependence is difficult, particularly because of codependence – for example, on alcohol or other drugs of abuse. In the presented study, we analyzed the potential influence of disulfiram, a drug used to aid the management of alcoholism, on opioid ...
