Bisphenol A (BPA), a common chemical in plastics, exerts dual effects on bladder cancer cells: low doses promote growth and migration, while high doses suppress growth and migration. Multi‐omics and bioinformatics reveal BPA acts via MAPK and inflammatory pathways.

Using an Improved ARIMA Algorithm to Forecast the Cancer Mortality in Taiwan in the Next Five Years
[[abstract]]The first cause of death in the elderly is also cancer, and unfortunately, the percentage of such death in people over 65 years old is increasing with days.

Lee-Carter Cohort Mortality Forecasts
Mortality forecasting has recently stimulated great interest in academics and financial sector practitioners due to the increasing challenges posed by continuous longevity improvements. Many efforts have been directed to model and forecast mortality from

Long‐term hippocampal alterations and cognitive impairment in a murine model of surgical sepsis
Using a mouse model of surgical sepsis, we tested long‐term memory and analyzed the transcriptome of single cells isolated from the hippocampus. Survivor mice showed worse memory, loss of certain brain cell subpopulations, and abnormal immune cell activity—suggesting that post‐sepsis brain alterations may be linked to cognitive deficits.

Bayesian hierarchical multi-population mortality modelling for China's provinces
China has experienced large improvements in mortality rates, but there remain substantial variations at the provincial level. This paper develops new models to project mortality at both the national and provincial levels in China.

Pharmacological inhibition of PERK in a DEN‐induced mouse model of liver cancer does not reduce tumor burden but alters cellular stress signaling. Despite blocking PERK activity, downstream stress responses, including CHOP expression, remain active, suggesting compensatory mechanisms within the unfolded protein response that may influence tumor ...

In this study, we investigate Singapore population using the variant of Lee-Carter model proposed by Hyndman and Ullah. The mortality rates, fertility rates and net migration numbers which form the basis of the population are analysed.

In normal (nontolerant) cells, CD14 is crucial for both LPS uptake and LPS signaling. In LPS‐tolerant cells, in which LPS‐induced TNF‐α and IFN‐β production is suppressed, there is a dramatic increase in surface CD14 expression. The overexpressed CD14 in LPS‐tolerant cells is responsible for the enhanced LPS uptake without inducing pro‐inflammatory ...

Forecast of mortality rates in Colombia: an approach based on functional data analysis
