DDX21 Promotes Breast Cancer Growth and Metastasis via Stimulating RNAPII Elongation During Hypoxia

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 7, July 2026.
DDX21 triggers CDK9 release from the 7SK RNP complex. DDX21‐CDK9 binding to HIFs drives transcriptional reprogramming during hypoxia. DDX21 enhances breast cancer progression and metastasis. Elevated DDX21 expression correlates with poor prognosis in breast cancer patients.

Therapy of 4T1 breast cancer in mice with Vaccinia virus encoding tumor-associated antigen epitopes and mouse IL2 cytokine

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
IntroductionOncolytic vaccinia virus (VACV) strains are being investigated for use in immunotherapy as a new experimental cancer treatment. Here, we describe the construction, characterization, and use of VACV strains co-expressing murine Interleukin 2 ...

Intratumoral Microbiota in Tumor: Current Understandings and Future Perspectives

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 7, July 2026.
Intratumoral bacteria are emerging as active regulators of cancer evolution rather than bystanders. This review outlines how tumor‐resident microbes drive tumor initiation and growth by inducing genomic instability, epigenetic reprogramming, oncogenic signaling, and chronic inflammation, while promoting metastatic spread via invasion, angiogenesis ...

Effects of BRCA1 Transgene Expression on Murine Mammary Gland Development and Mutagen-Induced Mammary Neoplasia

open access: yesInternational Journal of Biological Sciences, 2007
To characterize the role of BRCA1 in mammary gland development and tumor suppression, a transgenic mouse model of BRCA1 overexpression was developed. Using the mouse mammary tumor virus (MMTV) promoter/enhancer, transgenic mice expressing human BRCA1 or ...

Comparison of Expression Profiles of Metastatic versus Primary Mammary Tumors in MMTV-Wnt-1 and MMTV-Neu Transgenic Mice

open access: yesNeoplasia: An International Journal for Oncology Research, 2008
Distant metastases of human breast cancers have been suggested to be more different from each other than from their respective primary tumors, based on expression profiling.

Maternal Obesity and MicroRNAs in Breast Milk: Implications for Infant Developmental Programming

open access: yesObesity Reviews, Volume 27, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT This review explores the relationship between maternal obesity and alterations in the expression of microRNAs (miRNAs) in breast milk, highlighting how these changes may influence the developmental programming of the infant. Evidence suggests that maternal obesity can affect the bioactive composition of breast milk, including miRNA profiles ...

Dihydroorotate dehydrogenase (DHODH) regulates trophoblast syncytialization through organelle stress–induced cellular senescence

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, Volume 16, Issue 6, Page 1166-1180, June 2026.
The inhibition of mitochondrial dihydroorotate dehydrogenase (DHODH) impairs syncytialization and induces cellular senescence via mitochondrial and endoplasmic reticulum stress in human trophoblast stem cells, elevating sFlt1/PlGF levels, a hallmark of placental dysfunction in hypertensive disorders of pregnancy.

Common Spontaneous Tumors and Tumor-like Lesions in 70 Pet Rodents and Negative MMTV Detection in Mammary Tumors

open access: yesAnimals
Compared to the number of studies on the neoplasms of laboratory rodents, fewer studies have focused on spontaneous neoplasms in pet rodents. Notably, the mouse mammary tumor virus (MMTV) is associated with mammary tumors in rodents.

Tetrastigma Hemsleyanum Polysaccharide Suppresses Triple‐Negative Breast Cancer by Disrupting the Hippo‐YAP/TEAD4‐PDIA4 Axis and Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress Adaptation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 34, 19 June 2026.
ABSTRACT Triple‐negative breast cancer (TNBC) exhibits addiction to chronic endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress, which sustains an aggressive metastatic phenotype through activation of the unfolded protein response (UPR). Here, we identify a previously unrecognized “ER‐stress addiction” axis in which the Hippo pathway effector TEAD4 directly ...

Studies on Interferon Induction by the Mouse Mammary Tumor Virus

open access: yesExperimental Biology and Medicine, 1970
SummaryMammary tumor virus (MTV) did not induce detectable circulating interferon in female C57BL or male Swiss mice upon intravenous injection nor did it induce resistance in mice to subsequent challenge with Columbia SK virus. Numerous other viral and nonviral inducers of interferon did protect mice from challenge with Columbia SK virus. Neither milk
