Expression profiling across many samples via manifold-assisted mRNA processing [PDF]

open access: yesNucleic Acids Research, 2000
Analysis of mRNA provides a condensed view of gene structure, and quantitative analyses can reveal induction of physiological or pathological gene expression programs. One of the main hurdles for routine mRNA analyses is the need to prepare large sets of samples in a rapid and standardized manner.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Increased Expression of the Leptin Gene in Adipose Tissue of Patients with Chronic Kidney Disease–The Possible Role of an Abnormal Serum Fatty Acid Profile

open access: yesMetabolites, 2020
Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is associated with an increased level of leptin and an abnormal fatty acid (FA) profile in the serum. However, there are no data on the associations between them, and the reason for increased serum levels in patients with CKD

HnRNP Q Has a Suppressive Role in the Translation of Mouse Cryptochrome1. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
Precise regulation of gene expression is especially important for circadian timekeeping which is maintained by the proper oscillation of the mRNA and protein of clock genes and clock-controlled genes. As a main component of the core negative arm feedback

Finding the center reliably: robust patterns of developmental gene expression

open access: yes, 2005
We investigate a mechanism for the robust identification of the center of a developing biological system. We assume the existence of two morphogen gradients, an activator emanating from the anterior, and a co-repressor from the posterior.

Overexpression of an activated REL mutant enhances the transformed state of the human B-lymphoma BJAB cell line and alters its gene expression profile [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The human REL proto-oncogene encodes a transcription factor in the nuclear factor (NF)-kappaB family. Overexpression of REL is acutely transforming in chicken lymphoid cells, but has not been shown to transform any mammalian lymphoid cell type.

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

Identification of key modules and hub genes involved in regulating the feather follicle development of Wannan chickens using WGCNA

open access: yesPoultry Science
: Carcass appearance is important economic trait, which affects customers in making purchase decisions. Both density and diameter of feather follicles are two important indicators of carcass appearance.

Glial- and Neuronal-Specific Expression of CCL5 mRNA in the Rat Brain

open access: yesFrontiers in Neuroanatomy, 2018
Chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 5 (CCL5) belongs to a group of chemokines that play a role in the peripheral immune system, mostly as chemoattractant molecules, and mediate tactile allodynia.

Marked up-regulation of anti inflammatory cytokine gene expression in the peripheral blood mononuclear cells of postpartum cows with endometritis

open access: yesIndian Journal of Animal Sciences, 2021
This study was designed to determine the mRNA expression profile of inflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytokines in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) of endometritic and non-endometritic cows to find out a possible marker for diagnosis of ...
