Taxonomy of a novel and a new geographical record of Nigropunctata species (Pallidoperidiaceae) on Bambusa vulgaris from northern Thailand

open access: yesNordic Journal of Botany, EarlyView.
Nigropunctata is an understudied genus of bambusicolous fungi, and its diversity in Thailand remains poorly known. This study aimed to investigate species of Nigropunctata associated with bamboo in Thailand using morphological observations along with multi‐locus phylogenetic analyses of the internal transcribed spacer (ITS), large subunit (LSU), RNA ...

Human Umbilical Cord Mesenchymal Stem Cell–Derived Exosomes Attenuate Renal Fibrosis by Suppressing Fibroblast Activation via the INHBA/PI3K/AKT Pathway

open access: yesPediatric Discovery, EarlyView.
MSC‐Exo derived from human umbilical cord (HucMSC‐Exo) downregulates INHBA expression, consequently modulating the PI3K/AKT signaling cascade. This regulation attenuates renal fibroblast activation and extracellular matrix deposition, thereby exerting a renoprotective effect against fibrosis.

PCR‐based species identification tools for wireworms (Coleoptera: Elateridae) of economic importance in Canada

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Species‐specific PCR primers and PCR‐based assays were designed for the identification of 15 economically important and difficult to distinguish wireworm pests in Canada. PCR specificity testing and performance assessments confirm the accuracy of the assays.

The first report of M918L (super‐kdr) and L932F voltage‐gated sodium channel mutations in the English grain aphid (Sitobion avenae)

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
The study has identified mutations in the voltage gated sodium channel of the English grain aphid (Sitobion avenae) at M918 and L932, which have not been previously reported in this species. Abstract BACKGROUND The grain aphid, Sitobion avenae Fabricius (Hemiptera: Aphididae), is a vector of yellow dwarf viruses and an important pest of cereals.
