Role of multiplex polymerase chain reaction in diagnosing tubercular meningitis
AbstractTuberculous meningitis (TBM) is one of the most serious manifestations of extrapulmonary tuberculosis. Timely and accurate diagnosis provides a favorable prognosis in patients with TBM. The study evaluated the use of multiplex polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in the diagnosis of TBM. A study was conducted on 74 patients clinically suspected with

Determination of capsulation status in Haemophilus influenzae by multiplex polymerase chain reaction [PDF]
Since the introduction of Haemophilus influenzae type b conjugate vaccines, there have been concerns regarding the emergence of invasive non-type b strains. Serotyping of H. influenzae with commercially available reagents is subjective. Definitive characterization of the capsulation status can be performed by polymerase chain reaction (PCR ...

Cigarette smoke accelerates the aging of immune cells in the lung. By combining human single‐cell sequencing, cell culture, and mouse models, the authors show that the protein GEM drives mitochondrial damage and senescence in alveolar macrophages by suppressing SIRT3.

Glaucoma, a major cause of blindness, involves retinal ganglion cell (RGC) degeneration. This study shows growth hormone‐releasing hormone receptor (GHRHR) deficiency preserves RGC survival and restores vision, unlike activation which only aids survival.

Integrative multi‐omics analysis delineates a mitochondrial–immune axis governing neoadjuvant chemotherapy response in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer. Immune‐active tumors exhibit enhanced B‐cell infiltration and favorable sensitivity, whereas metabolically rewired tumors display oxidative phosphorylation dependency and resistance.

The polymerase chain reaction and the multiplex polymerase chain reaction were developed for detection of Salmonella and for identification of the serotype enteritidis. Three sets of primers were selected from different genomic sequences amplifying a 429 bp fragment specific for the genus Salmonella within a randomly cloned sequence, including a 250 bp

Streptococcus pneumoniaeType Determination by Multiplex Polymerase Chain Reaction
The purpose of this study was to develop pneumococcal typing by multiplex PCR and compare it with conventional serotyping by quellung reaction. Pneumococcal strains used in this study included 77 isolates from clinical specimens collected from children at Seoul National University Children's Hospital from 2006 to 2010.
