Isolation and Culture of Primary Fibroblasts from Neonatal Murine Hearts to Study Cardiac Fibrosis
Cardiac fibroblasts are one of the major constituents of a healthy heart. Cultured cardiac fibroblasts are a crucial resource for conducting studies on cardiac fibrosis. The existing methods for culturing cardiac fibroblasts involve complicated steps and

Electrical stimulated GLUT4 signalling attenuates critical illness‐associated muscle wasting
Background Critical illness myopathy (CIM) is a debilitating condition characterized by the preferential loss of the motor protein myosin. CIM is a by‐product of critical care, attributed to impaired recovery, long‐term complications, and mortality.

Previously, microRNA-100 (miR-100) and its putative mRNA target, insulin-like growth factor receptor-1 (IGF1R) were identified as differentially and inversely expressed in bovine longissimus dorsi (LD) muscles with divergent intramuscular fat (IMF ...

Developmental Biology: Micromanaging Muscle Growth [PDF]
Much remains to be learnt about the in vivo function of specific microRNAs. Recently, the conserved microRNA miR-1 has been found to be essential for Drosophila development. miR-1 mutants die during the rapid larval growth phase with severe muscle defects.

ACL injury reprograms quadriceps myonuclear epigenetic and transcriptional signatures in mice
Background ACL injury is a debilitating sport-related injury that induces prolonged deficits in muscle size and strength. Using a time-course of in vivo fluorescent metabolic labeling of nascent RNA in an ACL injury mouse model, we identified upregulated

The Impact of COVID 19 on the Meat Supply Chain in the USA: A Review
The COVID 19 pandemic resulted in a considerable influence on the world economy. Being a big sector of the economy, the food supply chain struggled. The meat supply chain was most notably affected as every part of the supply chain from farm to shelf was ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.
