Targeted Muscle Reinnervation for Intuitive Prosthetic Control
ABSTRACT The convergence of medical and technological advances has led to a substantial expansion of therapeutic approaches for patients with limb amputations. Targeted muscle reinnervation (TMR) is one of the strategies to improve control of bionic arms and has been applied for more than two decades. Through surgical rewiring of the nerves responsible

ABSTRACT Introduction/Aims Routine assessment of muscle reinnervation primarily relies on clinical and electromyographic evaluation. The aim of this preliminary study was to evaluate sensitivity of quantitative ultrasound analysis for monitoring intrinsic hand muscle recovery following anterior interosseous nerve (AIN)‐to‐ulnar motor branch ...

Calpain 3 mRNA expression in mice after denervation and during muscle regeneration
Lack of functional calpain 3 in humans is a cause of limb girdle muscular dystrophy, but the function(s) of calpain 3 remain(s) unknown. Special muscle conditions in which calpain 3 is downregulated could yield valuable clues to the understanding of its ...

Fear‐Avoidance and Overactive Bladder: Toward a Mechanism‐Informed Model of Care
ABSTRACT Aims Overactive bladder (OAB) is associated with substantial psychological burden, yet existing biopsychosocial frameworks acknowledge that psychological factors shape outcomes without explaining the cognitive and behavioral mechanisms through which that influence operates.

Macrophage induces angiogenesis via HIF signaling in denervated muscle following nerve injury
Skeletal muscle and blood vessels typically maintain independent homeostasis under normal physiological conditions. However, peripheral nerve injury often leads to skeletal muscle denervation, affecting the richly vascularized tissue.

Electrolytes in Denervated and Reinnervated Muscle
SummaryThe content of potassium expressed in relation to non-collagenous protein nitrogen is normal even 20 days after denervation in muscles of the rat. Following denervation only the intracellular muscle phase decreases. The drop in K content (K/muscle) and FFDS (weight/muscle) reaches 50%.

Abstract Objective Injection laryngoplasty is a standard‐of‐care intervention for unilateral vocal fold paralysis (UVFP), offering minimally invasive medialization with limited durability. We evaluated a regenerative injectable approach integrating an immunotolerant scaffold‐forming collagen (Oligomer) with autologous motor‐endplate expressing (MEE ...

Denervation modulated changes in mouse skeletal muscle RNA concentration.
We have examined normal and denervated mouse skeletal muscle for histological evidence of changes in RNA concentration using acridine orange/nucleic acid fluorescence. In denervated muscle, cytoplasmic RNA concentration increases dramatically.
