Bacterial Mutagenicity Screening in the pharmaceutical industry

open access: yes, 2012
Genetic toxicity testing is used as an early surrogate for carcinogenicity testing. Genetic toxicity testing is also required by regulatory agencies to be conducted prior to initiation of first in human clinical trials and subsequent marketing for most ...

MUTAGENICITY TEST OF CEFODIZIME SODIUM

open access: yesThe Journal of Toxicological Sciences, 1988
The mutagenicity of cefodizime sodium (THR-221) was investigated by the reverse mutation test using seven bacterial strains (Salmonella typhimurium strains TA100, TA98, TA1535, TA1537 and TA1538, and Escherichia coli strains WP2 and WP2uvrA) and the chromosomal aberration test with cultured Chinese hamster lung (CHL) cells.

DNA Replication Errors Drive Genome‐Wide Small Inverted Triplication Dynamics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study provides insight into the dynamic equilibrium mechanism of a novel structural variant, small inverted triplication (SIT), which is generated by misalignment of the 3’ flap generated under DNA replication stress with palindromic sequence. Alternatively, the end sequence may fold back on itself to form an inverted fragment.

The mutagenicity of benzimidazole and benzimidazole derivatives III . The influence of the 2-substituent in benzimidazole on the mutagenic activity

open access: yesCHIMIA, 1973
A number of 2-substituted benzimidazoles has been prepared and the compounds were characterized by their physico-chemical and spectral properties. - Mutagenicity tests with two strains of Salmonella typhimurium revealed that on one hand the mutagenic ...

An Integrated DNA Nanoprobe for Intranuclear Imaging and in Situ Profiling of OGG1 Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The TP‐SA nanoprobe, integrating an AS1411 aptamer for nuclear delivery and a FRET array for signal amplification, enables real‐time tracking of nuclear OGG1 activity. It reveals cell‐line‐specific basal OGG1 levels and shows clinical promise using pneumonia patients’ lavage fluid.
