N6‐Methyladenosine (m6A) in Liver Disease: Pathogenic Mechanisms and Therapeutic Potential

open access: yesiNew Medicine, Volume 2, Issue 2, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Accumulating evidence highlights the critical role of epigenetic modifications, particularly N6‐methyladenosine (m6A), in liver disease. As the most abundant RNA modification in eukaryotic cells, m6A is dynamically regulated by multicomponent m6A methyltransferases (e.g., METTL3 and METTL14), demethylases (FTO and ALKBH5), and m6A‐binding ...

An Economical Bioprocess for Lipopeptide Production From Bacillus subtilis

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 15, Issue 3, June 2026.
The lipopeptide (LP) production potential of Bacillus isolates was evaluated against phytopathogenic fungi, with B. subtilis 4‐Ka‐22 identified as the top‐performing strain. Optimization of the production medium—comprising molasses, soybean meal, CaCl2, and glycerol—resulted in a 13.4‐fold increase in cell growth and over 99% cost reduction compared to

Evaluation of Storage Conditions and Pre‐Treatment Methods to Mitigate Aflatoxin Contamination in Commonly Used Chinese Herbal Medicines

open access: yesPhytochemicals in Food and Medicine, Volume 1, Issue 2, June 2026.
High temperature and humidity significantly promote aflatoxin contamination in herbal medicines. This research demonstrates that drying, vacuum packaging, and sulfur fumigation are effective strategies to minimize contamination and extend shelf life, whereas UV exposure proves ineffective for decontamination.

FgJhd2 Modulates FgMpf2 Expression via H3K4 Demethylation and Influences Sexual Development in Fusarium graminearum

open access: yesEnvironmental Microbiology, Volume 28, Issue 6, June 2026.
The histone demethylase FgJhd2 regulates sexual reproduction in the fungal pathogen Fusarium graminearum via H3K4me3 demethylation. Mechanistically, FgJhd2 restricts H3K4 methylation to suppress the expression of FgMpf2, an RNA‐binding protein involved in RNA degradation.

Peanut Shell Valorization: Effects of Particle Size on Techno‐Functional Attributes, Mineral Profile, Starch Digestibility, and Bioactive Properties of Cookies

open access: yesJournal of Food Science, Volume 91, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Peanuts are among the most widely produced nuts globally, generating greater quantities of shell residues than other nut by‐products, thereby representing a highly abundant source of lignocellulosic fiber and phenolic compounds. This study examined the effect of peanut shell ground to different sizes (212, 500, and 800 µm) on the physical ...
