Paramagnetic Rim Lesions Are Associated With Trans‐Synaptic Degeneration of the Visual Pathway in Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, Volume 13, Issue 9, Page 1831-1841, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Objectives Retrograde trans‐synaptic degeneration (rTSD) from posterior visual pathway lesions in multiple sclerosis (MS) is characterized by hemi‐macular ganglion cell‐inner plexiform layer (GCIPL) thinning and contralateral visual field loss.

Anti‐TNF‐Alpha Associated Central Nervous System Demyelination. Drug‐Induced Demyelination or Multiple Sclerosis Trigger? A Case Series

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 9, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Adalimumab is a monoclonal antibody that targets TNF‐α and is effective in treating several autoimmune disorders, including non‐infectious uveitis; however, it has been associated with demyelinating lesions. This study presents two cases of CNS demyelination in patients who consumed adalimumab. First, an 18‐year‐old man presented with subacute

Quantitative analysis of aquaporin-4 (AQP4) and myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG) antibodies titres: correlation with relapses [PDF]

open access: yes
Detection of antibodies against aquaporin-4 (AQP4-IgG) and myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG-IgG) is essential for diagnosis of AQP4-IgG+ neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder and myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody-associated disease ...

ICU Management of COVID-19 vaccine-related myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein IgG-association encephalomyelitis

open access: yes, 2022
This is a 19 y.o. woman with a history of bipolar disorder admitted to the hospital for Myelin Oligodendrocyte Glycoprotein IgG-Associated Encephalomyelitis. She received her COVID-19 vaccination 5 days prior to symptom onset.

Prolonged Headache in a 13‐Year‐Old Girl With Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia: A Case of Possible Neuroinflammatory Complication Responsive to Intravenous Immunoglobulin

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 9, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Neurological complications in pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) may result from disease, CNS involvement, or treatment. We report a 13‐year‐old girl with persistent headache and blurred vision suggestive of raised intracranial pressure.

Antibodies to Oligodendrocyte Glycoprotein in Children with ADEM

open access: yesPediatric Neurology Briefs, 2010
Antibodies to native myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (nMOG) in 47 children during a first episode of CNS demyelination (acute disseminated encephalomyelitis [ADEM] in 19, and a clinical isolated syndrome [CIS] in 28) were investigated by a cell-based

Recent Advancements in Drug Delivery Across the Blood–Brain Barrier in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 9, September 2026.
Progressive BBB/BSCB dysfunction is increasingly recognized as both a pathological feature and a therapeutic barrier in ALS. Novel delivery technologies and barrier‐restoration strategies may enhance CNS drug exposure, improve the efficacy of disease‐modifying therapies, and advance ALS treatment. ABSTRACT Background Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)

Asymptomatic Optic Nerve Enhancement in Myelin Oligodendrocyte Glycoprotein Associated Disease

open access: yes, 2022
The rate of asymptomatic optic nerve enhancement on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has been reported as high as 51% in neuromyelitis optica (1), but has not been explored in patients with myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody associated disease (

Emodin Suppresses the RAGE/ROCK1 Pathway to Modulate the Oligodendrocyte Lineage and Ameliorate Demyelination in Vascular Dementia Rats

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 9, September 2026.
Emodin improves white matter remyelination and alleviates cognitive deficits through suppression of the RAGE/ROCK1 signaling pathway in VD rats. Mechanistically, it modulates the OL lineage by reducing the elevated proliferative response of OPCs while promoting their maturation and remyelination.
