Genetic‐Proteomic Integration Identifies Predictive Plasma Proteins for Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, EarlyView.
Objective Multiple sclerosis (MS) develops after a prolonged preclinical phase. Identifying circulating biomarkers that capture this early biology can improve risk stratification and guide intervention. We aimed to identify plasma proteins driving MS susceptibility using large‐scale proteogenomic integration and to evaluate their prediagnostic ...

3‐Deoxy‐3‐Fluoro Mannuronic Acid Alginates: Stereoselective Automated Synthesis and Conformational Behaviour

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
The impact of C‐3 fluorination on the synthesis and conformation of alginate oligosaccharides is investigated. A C‐3‐fluoro mannuronic acid building block is generated and shown to react with high β‐selectivity. Automated glycan assembly enables access to uniquely fluorinated mannuronic acid alginates where deoxyfluorination is shown not to perturb the

Therapeutic Applications of Stimuli‐Based Release and Engineering of Extracellular Vesicles

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
This review summarizes the effects of endogenous and exogenous stimuli, their effects on the natural release of extracellular vesicles, as well as their uptake and release. It also gives an overview of stimuli‐responsive EVs and their therapeutic applications. Extracellular vesicles (EVs), nano‐ to microsized lipid bilayer membrane‐bound particles, are

8-plex LC-MS/MS Analysis of Permethylated N-glycans Achieved by Using Stable Isotopic Iodomethane

open access: yes, 2019
Glycosylation is an important post-translational modification of proteins. Many diseases, such as cancer have proved to be related to aberrant glycosylation.

High sensitivity profiling of N-glycans from mouse serum using fluorescent imidazolium tags by HILIC electrospray ionisation spectrometry [PDF]

open access: yes
N-linked glycosylation is a ubiquitous protein post-translational modification in which aberrant glycan biosynthesis has been linked to severe conditions like cancer.

Comparison of Receptor‐Mediated Endocytosis and Its Application to Enhance DNA Transfection by TFAMoplex

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
We developed an assay to distinguish cellular binding from internalization. Compatible with microscopy and high‐throughput screening, the method identifies ligand‐mediated uptake. Applying top candidates to a protein‐based DNA carrier enhanced transfection efficiency, providing a rational strategy to improve non‐viral gene delivery systems.

Proteogenomic characterization of cholangiocarcinoma

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Proteogenomic characterization of cholangiocarcinoma with therapeutic strategies Abstract Background and Aims Cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) is a highly heterogeneous cancer with limited understanding and few effective therapeutic approaches. We aimed at providing a proteogenomic CCA characterization to inform biological processes and treatment ...

Conserved role of spike S2 domain N-glycosylation across betacoronaviruses

open access: yesnpj Viruses
Besides acting as an immunological shield, the N-glycans of SARS-CoV-2 are also critical for viral life cycle. As the S2 subunit of spike is highly conserved across betacoronaviruses, we determined the functional significance of the five ‘stem N-glycans’
