Characterization of the single-chain Fv-Fc antibody MBP10 produced in Arabidopsis alg3 mutant seeds

open access: yes, 2010
ER resident glycoproteins, including ectopically expressed recombinant glycoproteins, carry so-called high-mannose type N-glycans, which can be at different stages of processing.

Divergent Enzymatic Assembly of a Comprehensive 64‐Membered IgG N‐Glycan Library for Functional Glycomics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, 2023
N‐Glycosylation, a main post‐translational modification of Immunoglobulin G (IgG), plays a significant role in modulating the immune functions of IgG. However, the precise function elucidation of IgG N‐glycosylation remains impeded due to the obstacles ...

Mechanically Spatio‐Chimeric Fibrin Assembly Enables Vascular‐Integrated Muscle Reconstruction for Volumetric Muscle Loss Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
SPARC (spatio‐chimeric, plasma‐based, anisotropic, and shear‐responsive construct) that integrates myogenic and vascular microenvironments within a single construct. The dual‐modulus matrix directs aligned myotube formation and endothelial network development, enabling a vascularized muscle implant that seamlessly anastomoses with host tissue and ...

An enzymatic strategy to asymmetrically branched N-glycans [PDF]

open access: yesOrganic & Biomolecular Chemistry, 2017
Using a set of glycosidases and glycosyltransferases, an enzymatic strategy was developed to prepare asymmetricN-glycans excluding any chemical procedures.

Malectin Alleviates Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress in Gestational Diabetes Mellitus via Glycoprotein Quality Control Mechanisms

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Malectin alleviates high glucose‐induced ER stress and damage in placental trophoblasts, a function dependent on its six critical carbohydrate‐binding residues. In a GDM mouse model, administration of TAT‐Malectin ameliorated hyperglycemia and placental ER stress and prevented fetal macrosomia.

Glycointeractome of Neisseria gonorrhoeae: Identification of Host Glycans Targeted by the Gonococcus To Facilitate Adherence to Cervical and Urethral Epithelial Cells

open access: yesmBio, 2019
Neisseria gonorrhoeae is a significant threat to global health for which a vaccine and novel treatment options are urgently needed. Glycans expressed by human cells are commonly targeted by pathogens to facilitate interactions with the host, and thus ...

Marburg Virus Glycoprotein Is a Remarkable Virulent Factor Linked to Hemorrhagic Pathology: Evidence from Multimodal Experimental Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
By integrating data from in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo models, our research identifies the MARV glycoprotein as a remarkable hemorrhagic factor, filling a major gap in this important field. It also provides practical experimental tools for the basic research on viral pathogenesis and applied research aimed at antiviral intervention for hemorrhagic ...

N-Glycan Modification in Aspergillus Species [PDF]

open access: yesApplied and Environmental Microbiology, 2008
ABSTRACT The production by filamentous fungi of therapeutic glycoproteins intended for use in mammals is held back by the inherent difference in protein N-glycosylation and by the inability of the fungal cell to modify proteins with mammalian glycosylation structures. Here, we report protein N-glycan engineering in two

Icariin Enhances the Enzymatic Activity of N‐acetylgalactosaminidase to Augment Akkermansia Abundance in Gut Microbiota for Improved PD‐1 Blockade Efficacy in Tumor Suppression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Icariin promoted the growth of Akk by enhancing the activity of N‐acetylgalactosaminidase (Amuc_0920), which enhanced mucin utilization and provided a favorable nutrient environment for bacterial growth. This icariin‐mediated enrichment of Akk further reshaped the tumor microenvironment and promoted CD8+ T cell infiltration, ultimately synergizing with

Characterization of the functional role of the N-glycans in the AMPA receptor ligand-binding domain

open access: yes, 2003
The ligand-binding domains of AMPA receptor subunits carry two conserved N-glycosylation sites. In order to gain insight into the functional role of the corresponding N-glycans, we examined how the elimination of glycosylation at these sites (N407 and ...
