Nox2 dependent redox-regulation of microglial response to amyloid-β stimulation and microgliosis in aging [PDF]
Microglia express constitutively a Nox2 enzyme that is involved in neuroinflammation by the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS). Amyloid β (Aβ) plays a crucial role in Alzheimer’s disease.

NADPH Oxidases in Vascular Pathology [PDF]
Reactive oxygen species (ROS) play a critical role in vascular disease. While there are many possible sources of ROS, nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADPH) oxidases play a central role. They are a source of "kindling radicals," which affect other enzymes, such as nitric oxide synthase endothelial nitric oxide synthase or xanthine oxidase.

Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Regulation of Plant NADPH Oxidase [PDF]
The production of Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) is one of the key events occurring during the response of plants to environmental changes, and contributing to establish adaptive signaling pathways. A plasma membrane bound NADPH oxidase enzyme has been evidenced as the ROS producing system in various plant-microorganisms interactions.

Synthetic Nanobiology Actuated Lipometabolic Cell Factory for Autologous Tumor Immunotherapy
FA plays a crucial role in the interaction between tumor cells and the tumor microenvironment, especially for the immune response. A biocatalytic immunoenhancement strategy is developed to boost antitumor immunity by FA metabolic orientation to ceramide. Through the design of this delicate catalytic immunoenhancement strategy, the synthetic nanobiology

Cysteine-10 on 17 β-Hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase 1 has stabilizing interactions in the cofactor binding region and renders sensitivity to sulfhydryl modifying chemicals [PDF]
17 β-Hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 1 (17 β -HSD1) catalyzes the conversion of estrone to the potent estrogen estradiol. 17 β -HSD1 is highly expressed in breast and ovary tissues and represents a prognostic marker for the tumor progression and ...
