Characterization of NDM-5-positive extensively resistant Escherichia coli isolates from dairy cows
Veterinary Microbiology, 2017The aim of this study was to investigate the prevalence of blaNDM-5 gene in Escherichia coli isolates from dairy cows and to characterize the molecular traits of the blaNDM-5-positive isolates. A total of 169 cows were sampled (169 feces and 169 raw milk samples) in three dairy farms in Jiangsu Province and 203 E. coli isolates were recovered.

Proteus mirabilis harboring carbapenemase NDM-5 and ESBL VEB-6 detected in Austria
Diagnostic Microbiology and Infectious Disease, 2018We describe a case of carbapenemase-harboring Proteus mirabilis together with detection of NDM-5 in Austria accompanied by other bacterial strains with a wide range of beta-lactamases including OXA-181 and VEB-6. Isolates were obtained from a subphrenic abscess from one patient who was previously treated with broad-spectrum antibiotics in Bangladesh.

NDM-5-producing Klebsiella pneumoniae ST258 in a university hospital in Argentina
Journal of Antimicrobial ChemotherapyAbstract Background A drastic increase in carbapenem resistance among Klebsiella pneumoniae isolates occurred during the period 2019–22. Three epidemiological changes could be evidenced: (i) NDM became the predominant carbapenemase; (ii) NDM-5 replaced NDM-1; and (iii) the emergence of NDM-producing K.

Circulation of emerging NDM‐5‐producing Escherichia coli among humans and dogs in Egypt
Zoonoses and Public Health, 2019AbstractThe emergence of NDM‐producing Escherichia coli has considerably threatened human and animal health worldwide. This study describes for the first time in Egypt, the draft genome sequences of emerging NDM‐5‐producing E. coli from humans and dogs, and investigates genetic relatedness between isolates from both sources. Two E.

Emergence of Multidrug-Resistant NDM-5-Producing ST307 Klebsiella pneumoniae in Uruguay, 2023
Microbial Drug ResistanceCarbapenem and colistin-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae pose a significant threat to public health, particularly in intensive care units, due to high morbidity and mortality rates. This study aimed to analyze five NDM carbapenemase-producing multidrug-resistant K ...

The first report of NDM-5–producing uropathogenic Escherichia coli isolates in South Korea
Diagnostic Microbiology and Infectious Disease, 2016•We have described the first report of NDM-5–producing uropathogenic Escherichia coli clinical isolates in South Korea.•Three uropathogenic Escherichia coli (UPEC) strains out of 561 isolates showed resistance to imipenem.•The 3 carbapenem-resistant UPEC isolates belonged to phylogenetic group B1 and ST 101.•The 3 isolates carried a blaNDM-5, blaCTX-M,
