Gamma-irradiated Newcastle disease virus: an alternative inactivated oncolytic virotherapy. [PDF]

open access: yesImmunol Cell Biol
To overcome biological risks associated with using live NDV as an oncolytic therapy, we developed gamma‐NDV as a safer alternative. Using a murine model for skin cancer, we show that intratumor administration of gamma‐NDV outperformed live‐NDV in terms of reducing tumor growth and improving overall animal survival. Abstract Newcastle disease virus (NDV)

Phylogenetic relationship and genotype variation of six Newcastle disease viruses isolated from duck in Indonesia [PDF]

open access: yesVeterinary World, 2021
Background and Aim: Newcastle disease viruses (NDVs) are frequently acquired from all ages and types of bird species. In general, ducks are considered as potential reservoirs for different genotypes of NDV and are resistant even to velogenic NDV strains.

Exploring the links between Large Igneous Provinces and dramatic environmental impact

An emerging consensus suggests that Large Igneous Provinces (LIPs) and Silicic LIPs (SLIPs) are a significant driver of dramatic global environmental and biological changes, including mass extinctions.

The Immunomodulatory Activity in vitro of NDV ZG1999HDS in Comparison to NDV La Sota

open access: yes, 2021
ABSTRACT. The immunotherapies, as a modern therapeutic approach, get an attention because of theirs’ promise to treat a large number of different medical disorders. Immunomodulation effects of low titres (10 HA/ml) of NDV (Newcastle Disease Virus) ZG1999HDS or La Sota were tested on TLT (Human macrophage cell line) bound to PBMC (Peripheral ...

Characterization of Avian Influenza H9N2 and Newcastle Disease Virus Isolated from Vaccinated Chickens in Upper Egypt [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Veterinary Medical Research, 2020
In this study, 50 vaccinated broiler and one layer flock from Beni-Suef, Fayoum and Minia governorates were investigated. Necropsy lesions were suggestive of LPAI-H9N2 or NDV.

Characterization of Chicken-Derived Genotype VII Newcastle Disease Virus Isolates from Northwest China

open access: yesThe Journal of Poultry Science, 2023
Newcastle disease virus (NDV) threatens global poultry production, with genotype VII the most prevalent strain in China. However, little information is available regarding viral multiplication and pathogenicity based inoculation route.

Molecular characterisation of Newcastle disease virus exotic isolate in East Java, Indonesia

open access: yesBulgarian Journal of Veterinary Medicine, 2021
Newcastle disease virus (NDV) is ssRNA paramyxovirus causing clinical signs, varying from subclinical infections to 100% mortality in infected chickens. Haemagglutinin-neuraminidase (HN) protein has an important role related to infection and pathogenesis,

Expression of Recombinant Fusion Protein from Local Isolate of Newcastle Disease Virus and Antibody Response to Recombinant Fusion Protein in Broiler Chickens Post-Vaccination

open access: yesJournal of the Indonesian Tropical Animal Agriculture, 2020
This research aimed to express and purify the recombinant Fusion (F) protein of Newcastle Disease Virus (NDV) from a local isolate in Galur, Kulon Progo, Indonesia (0663/04/2013) from recombinant vector plasmid pBT7-N-His F, and to study the antibody ...

Package of NDV-Pseudotyped HIV-Luc Virus and Its Application in the Neutralization Assay for NDV Infection

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
Newcastle disease virus (NDV) is a member of the Paramyxovirinae subfamily and can infect most species of birds. It has been a great threat for the poultry industry all around the world. In this report, we successfully produced infectious pseudotyped pNL4-3-Luc-R(-)E(-) (HIV-Luc) viruses with the HN and F envelope proteins of NDV. Further investigation

Studies on Hemagglutination by NDV.

open access: yesExperimental Biology and Medicine, 1966
Summary and conclusionsBy absorption experiments, a strain of NDV was shown to have at least 2 agglutinins with different specificities. Human RBC were shown to possess receptors for only one type, in contrast to chicken RBC which had receptors for both types.
