Evaluation of Varnishes to Slow Down the Aging of Plasticized PVC

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
Varnish effectiveness in plasticized PVC strongly depends on both formulation and degradation state. A polyurethane varnish effectively limits color change and plasticizer loss in unaged PVC without phosphate plasticizers, whereas no protective effect is observed for phosphate‐containing PVC.

Journey to Net‐Zero and Investment in Renewable Energy: Evidence From Developed and Developing Countries

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study examines how geopolitical risk, high‐technology exports and the Paris Agreement shape investment in renewable energy across developed and developing economies. Drawing on structural contingency theory, we conceptualise renewable energy investment as a country‐level response to external contingencies and analyse a global panel of 100

Dual‐Function Electrocatalysis: Simultaneous Wastewater Remediation and Hydrogen Evolution—A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
Replacing the oxygen evolution reaction with the electro‐oxidation of pollutants and waste streams offers an energy‐efficient route for simultaneous hydrogen production and pollutant remediation. This review summarizes the reaction mechanisms, catalyst design principles, and emerging paired‐electrolysis strategies that govern activity, selectivity ...

Carboxylate–Probase Catalyzed Favorskii Reaction

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Stronger together: A combination of a carboxylate catalyst and a silylating agent generates a stronger base catalyst for a metal‐free catalytic addition of alkynes to aldehydes and ketones under chemoselective, O‐silylative conditions. The reaction is proposed to proceed via quaternary ammonium (Q+) cation – acetylide anion ion pairs, with chiral ...

Tetherin/BST-2 antagonism by Nef depends on a direct physical interaction between Nef and tetherin, and on clathrin-mediated endocytosis.

open access: yesPLoS Pathogens, 2013
Nef is the viral gene product employed by the majority of primate lentiviruses to overcome restriction by tetherin (BST-2 or CD317), an interferon-inducible transmembrane protein that inhibits the detachment of enveloped viruses from infected cells ...

An Ultra‐Low‐Power Biopotential Acquisition Analog Front‐End Chip for Wearable Devices

open access: yesInternational Journal of Circuit Theory and Applications, EarlyView.
A 0.8‐V, 1.2‐μW biopotential AFE combines a chopper‐stabilized CCIA with dual‐time‐scale EDO management. The slow DSL preserves > 1 GΩ input impedance, whereas an event‐triggered fast‐recovery path shortens return to the linear range after abrupt electrode‐offset disturbances. ABSTRACT A 0.8‐V, 1.2‐μW biopotential analog front‐end (AFE) IC is presented

SPARCL1 and NT‐proBNP as biomarkers of right ventricular‐to‐pulmonary artery uncoupling in pulmonary hypertension

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 1416-1426, April 2025.
Abstract Aims SPARCL1 was recently identified as a biomarker of right ventricular (RV) maladaptation in patients with pulmonary hypertension (PH), and N‐terminal pro‐brain natriuretic protein (NT‐proBNP) is an established biomarker of RV failure in PH. The present study investigated whether NT‐proBNP and SPARCL1 concentrations are associated with load ...

Nef-isocyanide-Perkow access to novel pyrazolone derivations containing a cyclic ketene dithioacetal moiety

open access: yes, 2019
Alkyl (E)-2-(3-Alkyl-5-oxo-1-phenyl-1,5-dihydro-4H-pyrazol-4-ylidene)-5-(alkylamino)-1,3-dithiole-4-carboxylates have been obtained by condensation of 2-pyrazolin-5-ones with carbon disulfide followed by ring formation with phosphorylated ...
