Sonoselective Transfection of Glioma Endothelium
Delivering non‐viral, gene‐bearing nanoparticles with thiol‐decorated surfaces to gliomas with focused ultrasound yields transfection tropism for endothelial cells. From this platform, “sonoselective” transfection of glioma endothelium is achieved via incorporation of an endothelial cell‐specific promoter.

Targeting neuropilin-1 in human leukemia and lymphoma
Abstract Targeted drug delivery offers an opportunity for the development of safer and more effective therapies for the treatment of cancer. In this study, we sought to identify short, cell-internalizing peptide ligands that could serve as directive agents for specific drug delivery in hematologic malignancies.

Neuropilin-1–Dependent Regulation of EGF-Receptor Signaling [PDF]
Abstract Neuropilin-1 (NRP1) is a coreceptor for multiple extracellular ligands. NRP1 is widely expressed in cancer cells and in advanced human tumors; however, its functional relevance and signaling mechanisms are unclear. Here, we show that NRP1 expression controls viability and proliferation of different cancer cells, independent ...

Expression of Semaphorin 3A and Neuropilin 1 in Asthma
Neuropilin 1 (NP1) is a part of essential receptor complexes mediating both semaphorin3A (SEMA3A) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) which is one of important mediators involved in the pathogenesis of asthma. Therefore, it is possible that SEMA3A plays a role in the pathogenesis of asthma through attenuation of VEGF-mediated effects.

Neurovascular coupling in bone regeneration: Mechanisms, advanced biomaterials and challenges
This figure illustrates various material strategies for neurovascularized bone regeneration, including electroactive scaffolds, ion‐loaded materials, drug delivery systems, surface modifications, cells/cell products, growth factors, and peptides. These approaches aim to synergistically promote the regeneration of neural, vascular, and bone tissues ...

Abstract The olfactory placode (OP) generates a broad array of chemosensory neurons in the nasal region, including olfactory sensory neurons, vomeronasal sensory neurons, neurons of the septal organ, and Grueneberg ganglion. During invagination, the OP also generates migratory neuronal populations, including gonadotropin‐releasing hormone‐1 (GnRH‐1 ...

Neuropilin-1 drives tumor-specific uptake of chlorotoxin
Background Chlorotoxin (Cltx) isolated from scorpion venom is an established tumor targeting and antiangiogenic peptide. Radiolabeled Cltx therapeutic (131I-TM601) yielded promising results in human glioma clinical studies, and the imaging agent ...

Architecture and hydration of the arginine‐binding site of neuropilin‐1 [PDF]
Neuropilin‐1 (NRP1) is a transmembrane co‐receptor involved in binding interactions with variety of ligands and receptors, including receptor tyrosine kinases. Expression of NRP1 in several cancers correlates with cancer stages and poor prognosis.
