The atypical chemokine receptor ACKR2 is protective against sepsis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Sepsis is a systemic inflammatory response as a result of uncontrolled infections. Neutrophils are the first cells to reach the primary sites of infection and chemokines play a key role in recruiting neutrophils.

Targeting Neutrophils in Sepsis: From Mechanism to Translation

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology, 2021
Sepsis is a life-threatening condition caused by a dysregulated host response to infection. Although our understanding in the pathophysiological features of sepsis has increased significantly during the past decades, there is still lack of specific ...

Neutrophils in Gliomas [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2017
Neutrophils are the most abundant white blood cells and are the first recruited to inflammatory sites. Neutrophils are an important component of the tumor stroma and can exert both anti-tumoral and pro-tumoral activities, depending on their maturation and activation state.

Integrated genomic and proteomic profiling reveals insights into chemoradiation resistance in cervical cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.

Deconjugation Kinetics of Glucuronidated Phase II Flavonoid Metabolites by B-glucuronidase from Neutrophils [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Flavonoids are inactivated by phase II metabolism and occur in the body as glucuronides. Mammalian ß-glucuronidase released from neutrophils at inflammatory sites may be able to deconjugate and thus activate flavonoid glucuronides.

Korelasi Absolute Neutrophil Count Selama Kemoterapi dengan Kualitas Hidup pada Anak dengan Leukemia Limfoblastik Akut

open access: yesSari Pediatri
Latar belakang.

Neutrophilic Thrombophagocytosis

open access: yesArchives of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine, 2000
Abstract Thrombocytopenia as a complication of B-cell lymphoma usually results from the removal of platelets from the circulation by splenic and hepatic mononuclear phagocytes.1,2 In the present paper, we describe a case of B-cell lymphoma with thrombocytopenia in which the platelets were phagocytosed by the patient's own neutrophilic ...

Heterogeneity Among Neutrophils [PDF]

open access: yesArchivum Immunologiae et Therapiae Experimentalis, 2017
Neutrophils (PMNs) play a key role in innate defence mechanisms. Generally, PMNs were considered to have a homogeneous population of mature and diversified cells. It seems, however, that their pleiotropic action results from the existence of different subpopulations in this group of cells.

Patient‐specific pharmacogenomics demonstrates xCT as predictive therapeutic target in colon cancer with possible implications in tumor connectivity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...
