Dysregulated NK-cell gene expression defines the enduring symptoms of long COVID-19
IntroductionLong-term COVID-19 syndrome (LTCS) or “long COVID” is a debilitating post-viral condition affecting approximately 2%–8% of individuals after SARS-CoV-2 infection. It manifests typically ≥3 months post-infection with symptoms persisting for at

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Next-Generation Sequencing for Lung Cancer
Lung cancer is biologically aggressive and is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths. The development of lung cancer is unique in each patient according to clinical characterizations, prognosis, response and tolerance to treatment. Traditional capillary-based single-gene sequencing by a first-generation technique (known as Sanger sequencing) has ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Next generation sequencing for studying viruses and RNA silencing-based antiviral defense in crop plants [PDF]
The main objectives of this work have been to use next generation sequencing (NGS) and develop bioinformatics tools for plant virus diagnostics and genome reconstruction as well as for investigation of RNA silencing-based antiviral defense.
