Nanotherapy targeting NF-κB attenuates acute pain after joint injury
Inflammation after joint injury leads to joint responses that result in eventual osteoarthritis development. Blockade of inflammation, by suppressing NF-κB expression, has been shown to reduce joint injury-induced chondrocyte apoptosis and ...

The Regulatory Role of Iron Transporter SLC39A13 in Liver Fibrosis
SLC39A13/ZIP13, a newly discovered intracellular iron transporter, delivers iron to the ER/Golgi to catalyze procollagen hydroxylation during collagen maturation. Here, we systematically characterize the cell type‐specific functions of ZIP13 across distinct hepatic cell populations, and identify hepatic stellate cell‐specific ZIP13 as a promising and ...

Computational models of the NF-κB signalling pathway [PDF]
In this review article, we discuss the current state of computational modelling of the nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB) signalling pathway. NF-κB is a transcription factor, which is ubiquitous within cells and controls a number of immune responses ...

RPS3‐Enriched Extracellular Vesicles Mediate Liver‐Spinal Cord Inter‐Organ Communication
Spinal cord injury activates the liver to send extracellular vesicles loaded with RPS3 protein to the lesion site. These vesicles are taken up by neural stem cells and astrocytes, triggering NF‐κB signaling, impairing the regeneration of neurons and myelin, and promotes harmful inflammation, ultimately hindering recovery.

Androgen receptor targets NFKB and TSPI to suppress prostate tumor growth in vivo [PDF]
The androgen role in the maintenance of prostate epithelium is subject to conflicting opinions. While androgen ablation drives the regression of normal and cancerous prostate, testosterone may cause both proliferation and apoptosis. Several investigators

Ubiquitin-mediated regulation of RIPK1 kinase activity independent of IKK and MK2 [PDF]
Tumor necrosis factor (TNF) can drive inflammation, cell survival, and death. While ubiquitylation-, phosphorylation-, and nuclear factor kappa B (NF-kappa B)-dependent checkpoints suppress the cytotoxic potential of TNF, it remains unclear whether ...

TNF-induced activation of NF-kappa B.
Tumor Necrosis Factor (TNF) is one of the most potent physiological inducers of the nuclear transcription factor NF-kappa B. In light of the pivotal role of NF-kappa B in the development of immune responses and activation of HIV replication, the identification of TNF signal transduction pathways involved in NF-kappa B activation is of particular ...

Vaccinia virus protein B14, an inhibitor of NF-κB activation, and its counterpart in MVA
Vaccinia virus (VACV) encodes multiple proteins which modulate NF-[kappa]B activation to evade the host immune response. One example is B14, a virulence factor that reduces NF-[kappa]B activation via interaction with IKK [Beta].
