NFATC1 promotes epicardium-derived cell invasion into myocardium [PDF]

open access: yesDevelopment, 2011
Epicardium-derived cells (EPDCs) contribute to formation of coronary vessels and fibrous matrix of the mature heart. Nuclear factor of activated T-cells cytoplasmic 1 (NFATC1) is expressed in cells of the proepicardium (PE), epicardium and EPDCs in mouse and chick embryos. Conditional loss of NFATC1 expression in EPDCs in mice causes embryonic death by

OX40-OX40L interaction promotes proliferation and activation of lymphocytes via NFATc1 in ApoE-deficient mice. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
BACKGROUND: Our previous studies have shown that OX40-OX40L interaction regulates the expression of nuclear factor of activated T cells c1(NFATc1) in ApoE(-/-) mice during atherogenesis.

NFATc1 is Suppressed in Tumor Microenvironment of Hodgkin Lymphoma [PDF]

open access: yesAsian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention, 2021
The aims of this research are to evaluate the expression and distribution of NFATc1 in tumor microenvironment of Hodgkin lymphoma.Twenty-eight cases of Hodgkin lymphoma were selected. Clinicopathological data of age, gender, location and subtypes were obtained.

Systemic activation of activin A signaling causes chronic kidney disease-mineral bone disorder [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The high cardiovascular mortality associated with chronic kidney disease (CKD) is caused in part by the CKD-mineral bone disorder (CKD-MBD) syndrome.

Aplidin (plitidepsin) is a novel anti-myeloma agent with potent anti-resorptive activity mediated by direct effects on osteoclasts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Despite recent progress in its treatment, Multiple Myeloma (MM) remains incurable and its associated bone disease persists even after complete remission.

Regulation of the Murine Nfatc1 Gene by NFATc2 [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 2002
NFAT proteins play a key role in the inducible expression of cytokine genes in T lymphocytes. NFATc1 and NFATc2 are the predominant NFAT family members in the peripheral immune system. NFATc2 is found abundantly in the cytoplasm of resting T cells, whereas Nfatc1 expression is induced during T cell activation.

NFATc1/αA: The other Face of NFAT Factors in Lymphocytes

open access: yesCell Communication and Signaling, 2012
In effector T and B cells immune receptor signals induce within minutes a rise of intracellular Ca++, the activation of the phosphatase calcineurin and the translocation of NFAT transcription factors from cytosol to nucleus.

Dormant Nfatc1 reporter-marked basal stem/progenitor cells contribute to mammary lobuloalveoli formation

open access: yesiScience, 2022
Summary: The Mammary gland undergoes complicated epithelial remodeling to form lobuloalveoli during pregnancy, in which basal epithelial cells remarkably increase to form a basket-like architecture. However, it remains largely unknown how dormant mammary

Induction of Short NFATc1/αA Isoform Interferes with Peripheral B Cell Differentiation

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2018
In lymphocytes, immune receptor signals induce the rapid nuclear translocation of preformed cytosolic NFAT proteins. Along with co-stimulatory signals, persistent immune receptor signals lead to high levels of NFATc1/αA, a short NFATc1 isoform, in ...
