Size‐Programmable Matteson‐Type Annulation: Construction of Spirocycles from Simple Cyclic Ketones
An iterative boron‐homologation approach is developed to enable programmable syntheses of various carbocycles with different sizes stereoselectively from simple precursors. This method utilizes an electron‐withdrawing group (EWG) as a handle to enable intramolecular Matteson‐type couplings, leading to diastereoselective and enantioselective ring ...

Visibly transparent & radiopaque inorganic organic composites from flame-made mixed-oxide fillers [PDF]
Radiopaque composites have been produced from flame-made ytterbium/silica mixed oxide within a crosslinked methacrylate resin matrix. The refractive index of the filler powder increased with ytterbium oxide loading. A high transparency was achieved for a

The synthesis and catalytic properties of Ni(II) complexes, with the general formula Ni(NHC)[P(OR)3](Ar)Cl, are described. These air‐stable complexes are effective under mild conditions and low catalytic loading for the Suzuki‐Miyaura cross‐coupling for a range of electronically and sterically differentiated coupling partners.

Improved Carbon and Nitrogen Isotopic Ratios for CH$_3$CN in Titan's Atmosphere Using ALMA [PDF]
Titan, Saturn's largest satellite, maintains an atmosphere composed primarily of nitrogen (N$_2$) and methane (CH$_4$) that leads to a complex organic chemistry. Some of the nitriles (CN-bearing organics) on Titan are known to have substantially enhanced $^{15}$N abundances compared to Earth and to Titan's dominant nitrogen (N$_2$) reservoir. The $^{14}

Non‐fluorinated Zinc Anions: A Low‐Cost Environmental Approach for Reversible Zinc Electrochemistry
Non‐fluorinated Zn(dca)2 electrolyte: For the first time, the electrochemical cycling of zinc is demonstrated in a non‐fluorinated, low‐cost, environmentally friendly and highly concentrated (≥1.0 M) electrolyte (zinc dicyanamide in dimethyl sulfoxide).

Ultrafast pump‐probe spectroscopies show that irradiation of a square Fe/Co Prussian blue analogue induces electron transfer within one Fe–Co subunit followed by fast spin crossover, and coupled equilibria between all states trigger a second electron transfer coupled to spin crossover in the other Fe–Co subunit on a ns timescale.

Engineering highly active dual sites enhances catalytic oxidation reactions by optimizing bimolecular activation. By immobilizing Cu2+ on NO3⁻‐grafted TiO2 and applying thermal treatment, Ti‐doped CuO is successfully synthesized on a TiO2 support. This catalyst, featuring gradient oxidative Cu─O─Ti/Cu─O─Cu dual sites, shows strong potential for low ...
