Synthesis, 2012The interaction of pentafluorophenylmagnesium bromide with conjugate nitroalkenes is described. The optimized conditions involve performing the reaction either in diethyl ether in the presence of chlorotrimethylsilane or in a tetrahydrofuran–diethyl ether solvent mixture.
