Naples Prognostic Score and Clinical Outcomes After PCI for Acute Coronary Syndrome: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesClinical Cardiology, Volume 49, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Naples Prognostic Score (NPS), a composite index incorporating inflammatory and nutritional markers, has emerged as a potential prognostic tool in various cardiovascular conditions; however, no meta‐analysis has yet pooled the available evidence to comprehensively assess its prognostic utility. Objectives To evaluate the association

Depression Aggravates Immune‐Mediated Hepatitis Through NLRP3 Overactivation Induced by Intestinal Microbiota

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 1, January 2026.
Depression is common in AIH patients and is associated with an elevated cirrhosis risk. AIH patients with depression, mice colonized with MDD microbiota, and ConA‐treated mice subjected to CUMS exhibit intestinal barrier dysfunction and hepatic NLRP3 inflammasome overactivation.

Pyroptosis in Peripheral Neuropathy: From Molecular Mechanisms to Therapeutic Targeting

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 1, January 2026.
Pyroptosis is a key inflammatory cell death pathway in peripheral neuropathy, with opposing roles: it perpetuates neuropathic pain but can be induced to kill neuroblastoma cells. This review consolidates mechanistic understanding and therapeutic strategies, arguing for a shift from disease‐centric to target‐centric treatment approaches to improve ...

Baseline multi‐omics signatures could predict therapeutic response to neoadjuvant anti‐PD‐1 immunochemotherapy in non‐small‐cell lung cancer

open access: yesClinical and Translational Medicine, Volume 16, Issue 1, January 2026.
Overview of study design. Metagenomic and plasma/fecal metabolomic studies were performed in 44 NSCLC patients who underwent neoadjuvant tislelizumab therapy plus platinum ‐ based doublet chemotherapy. Abstract Background Neoadjuvant anti‐programmed cell death 1 (PD‐1) immunochemotherapy has shown promising efficiency in the treatment of early‐stage ...

Serum Uric Acid as a Mediator of Insulin Resistance: Molecular Mechanisms and Metabolic Pathways

open access: yesEndocrinology, Diabetes &Metabolism, Volume 9, Issue 1, January 2026.
Elevated SUA can lead to oxidative stress, endothelial dysfunction, inflammation and impaired function of adipocytes—all of which collectively impede insulin receptor activity and downstream signalling. Key pathways involved include activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome, suppression of AMPK and induction of mitochondrial dysfunction.

Rice Blast Pathogenesis and Resistance: Effector Strategies and Host Defense Mechanisms

open access: yesFood and Energy Security, Volume 15, Issue 1, January/February 2026.
ABSTRACT Rice blast is the most significant disease affecting rice production, causing substantial yield loss and quality degradation. Previous studies have focused primarily on the genetic basis of pathogen resistance in rice. Recent studies have revealed the immune response mechanisms induced by pathogen‐associated molecular patterns in the pathogen ...

The Role of Viral and Bacterial Infections in the Etiology of Behçet's Disease

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Laboratory Analysis, Volume 40, Issue 1, January 2026.
Bacterial and viral pathogens may play a key role in Behçet's disease (BD) pathogenesis by triggering autoimmunity, molecular mimicry, or microbiome disruption. These infectious agents could initiate inflammatory pathways, contributing to BD's diverse clinical manifestations.

Ramalin Ameliorates Alzheimer's Disease Pathology by Targeting BACE1, HDAC6, and MAPK Pathways

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 1, January 2026.
Ramalin alleviates Alzheimer's disease pathology by selectively inhibiting HDAC6, reducing BACE1 levels, and suppressing neuroinflammation through downregulation of the NLRP3 inflammasome and iNOS. It restores synaptic function impaired by Aβ toxicity and improves cognitive performance in AD mouse models, APP/PS1 and 3xTg‐AD.

Anti‐Inflammatory Properties of Ripe and Unripe Papaya Pectin in a Neonatal Human Stem Cell‐Derived Ileum Model

open access: yesMolecular Nutrition &Food Research, Volume 70, Issue 1, January 2026.
This study tested pectin from ripe and unripe papayas on a neonatal human stem cell‐derived intestinal model, with and without commensal Escherichia coli (E. coli). Both pectins improved cell health and reduced IL‐6, but only unripe pectin lowered IL‐8.
