Overview on L-asparagine monohydrate single crystal: A non-essential amino acid
Journal of Nonlinear Optical Physics & Materials, 2022This paper reviews the growth and properties of L-asparagine monohydrate (L-ASPM) single crystal. The growth technique by which a well-defined bulk-sized single crystal can be grown is also reported. The various reported studies done over titled crystal signify its suitability for various optoelectronic applications.

Non-essential amino acids and short-term food intake of rats
Nutrition Research, 1994Abstract The objective of these studies was to evaluate the role of the six non-essential amino acids (NEAA) found in egg albumin, either in groups or individually on food intake of rats fed a 25% casein defined diet. Compared to control (water), 1.5g of a complete NEAA mixture given by gavage caused significant suppression in food intake by 70, 75 ...

Essentiality of non-essential amino acids for tumour cells and tumorigenesis
Nature Metabolism, 2019In this issue, Diehl et al. report that exogenous serine is essential for the cellular redox state and cancer nucleotide production, despite the ability of cancer cells to synthesize serine de novo in vitro.

Intensive Care Medicine, 1988
The metabolic derangements of injury are known to influence nitrogen (N) requirements whilst less is known about individual amino acid (AA) requirements. This study was designed to investigate prospectively N vs AA requirement in 36 injured patients treated with total parenteral nutrition (TPN).
