Roles and mechanisms of CircRNAs in ovarian cancer
Ovarian cancer (OC) is one of the female malignancies with nearly 45% 5-year survival rate. Circular RNAs (circRNAs), a kind of single-stranded non-coding RNAs, are generated from the back-splicing of cellular housekeeping noncoding RNAs and precursor ...

Noncoding RNAs database (ncRNAdb) [PDF]
The noncoding RNA database (ncRNAdb) was created as a source of information on RNA molecules, which do not possess protein-coding capacity. It is now widely accepted that, in addition to constitutively expressed, housekeeping or infrastructural RNAs, there is a wide variety of RNAs participating in mechanisms involved in regulation of gene expression ...

ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

Circular non-coding RNAs are found to play important roles in biology but are still relatively unexplored as a structural motif for chemically regulating gene function. Here, we investigated whether small interfering RNA (siRNA) with a circular structure

Long noncoding RNA: noncoding and not coded [PDF]
Mammalian evolution exhibits extraordinary acceleration in phenotypic complexity while displaying genetic conservation. Indeed, protein-coding genes are 90% identical between mice and human, and the question arises what might be the mechanisms by which phenotypic complexity increases while the number of proteins does not?

Liquid biopsy epigenetics: establishing a molecular profile based on cell‐free DNA
Cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) fragments in plasma from cancer patients carry epigenetic signatures reflecting their cells of origin. These epigenetic features include DNA methylation, nucleosome modifications, and variations in fragmentation. This review describes the biological properties of each feature and explores optimal strategies for harnessing cfDNA ...

Background 2′-O-methylation (2′-O-me or Nm) is a post-transcriptional RNA methylation modified at 2′-hydroxy, which is common in mRNAs and various non-coding RNAs. Previous studies revealed the significance of Nm in multiple biological processes. With Nm
