OBJECTIVE Postprandial plasma nonesterified fatty acid (NEFA) appearance is increased in type 2 diabetes. Our objective was to determine whether skeletal muscle uptake of plasma NEFA is abnormal during the postprandial state in type 2 diabetes.

The larval food consumption, growth, and pectinase activity without symbiotic bacteria are suppressed in Zeugodacus cucurbitae. We isolated four strains of Klebsiella spp. that can participate in pectinolytic metabolism from feeding wounds. Reintroducing them to sterile eggs breaks the developmental constraints caused by the lack of symbiotic bacteria.

Demonstration of two pools of albumin-bound fatty acids
The uptakes of albumin-bound nonesterified fatty acids and of [1-14C]palmitic acid complexed to albumin by the isolated perfused rat liver were compared. During perfusion, the rate of uptake of nonesterified fatty acids decreased and became zero when the

Effect of aging on the development and progression of alcohol‐associated liver disease
Age is a predictor for alcohol‐associated liver disease (ALD)‐related mortality. This study investigates the effects of aging on the ethanol‐induced development and progression of ALD in rats. This study demonstrates that chronic ethanol feeding increased liver injury markers and hepatic triglycerides across all age groups.

ABSTRACT Yaks (Bos grunniens) have developed numerous mechanisms to cope with hypoxic environments. Still, as their milk yield is low, the use of production systems building on dairy breeds at high altitude might increase efficiency, but this has not yet been explored.

Effect of Norepinephrine and Epinephrine on Nonesterified Fatty Acid Concentration in Plasma
SummaryConcentrations of nonesterified fatty acids and of glucose in plasma were determined before and after infusion of epinephrine and norepinephrine into dogs. At the same concentration and rate of infusion, norepinephrine produced a greater increase in nonesterified fatty acids.

ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to compare milk production, milk components and feed intake of Fleckvieh, Brown Swiss and Fleckvieh × Red Holstein dairy cows kept under identical feeding and management conditions. The study examined efficiency parameters in relation to feed, energy, protein, and metabolic weight of the three breeds.

Histidine‐Containing Dipeptides in Obesity and Cardiometabolic Health: A Systematic Scoping Review
ABSTRACT Background Histidine‐containing dipeptides (HCDs) have been reported to have anti‐inflammatory and antidiabetic properties. Yet, no previous reviews have examined the impact of HCDs on Type 2 diabetes (T2D) risk factors (e.g., obesity) and progression (e.g., microvascular and macrovascular complications).
