When Machine Perfusion Falls Short: Identifying Risks of Liver Graft Failure After Normothermic Machine Perfusion. [PDF]
Analysis of 4928 normothermic machine perfusion liver transplants reveals that recipient factors, particularly MELD ≥ 35, surgical complexity, ICU status, and functional impairment are stronger predictors of graft failure than donor characteristics, emphasizing the continued importance of clinical judgment in patient selection.

Normothermic central hypovolemia tolerance reflects hyperthermic tolerance [PDF]
Postprint, author's accepted manuscriptPurpose To test the hypothesis that those who are highly tolerant to lower body negative pressure (LBNP) while normothermic are also highly tolerant to this challenge while hyperthermic.

Extracorporeal normothermic pancreas perfusion [PDF]
Pancreas and islet transplantation are important treatment options for insulin dependent diabetes. However, one of the main challenges in pancreas and islet transplantation lies in organ (pancreas) preservation.

An experimental evaluation of continuous normothermic, intermittent hypothermic, and intermittent normothermic coronary perfusion [PDF]
Hedley Brown, A., Braimbridge, M. V., Darracott, Sally, Chayen, J., and Kasap, H. (1974). Thorax , 29 , 38-50. An experimental evaluation of continuous normothermic, intermittent hypothermic, and intermittent normothermic coronary perfusion. Coronary perfusion and hypothermia both have disadvantages, and excellent clinical results are obtained ...

There continues to be significant debate regarding the most effective mode of ex situ machine perfusion of livers for transplantation. Subnormothermic (SNMP) and normothermic machine perfusion (NMP) are two methods with different benefits.

Insufficient supply of cardiac grafts represents a severe obstacle in heart transplantation. Donation after circulatory death (DCD), in addition to conventional donation after brain death, is one promising option to overcome the organ shortage.

EFFECTS OF ANTIPYRETICS ON NORMOTHERMIC RABBITS
The effects of antipyretics on the ear skin and rectal temperature (Te and Tre) were investigated in non-febrile rabbits placed in a cold environment or when they were cooled locally in the hypothalamus. Intravenous injections of sulpyrin (25-500 mg/kg) or sodium salicylate (25-100 mg/kg) produced the dose-related increase in Te and slight fall in Tre.

RESULTS OF CARDIAC-SURGERY IN THE ELDERLY USING NORMOTHERMIC TECHNIQUES
Background: Cardiac surgery is increasingly offered to older patients. A new method of myocardial protection, continuous normothermic blood cardioplegia, offers theoretical advantages over hypothermic methods because it avoids ischemia.
