A Compact Dual-Band Notched UWB Antenna for Wireless Applications

open access: yesMicromachines, 2021
This article presents the design and analysis of a V-shaped ultrawideband (UWB) antenna and dual-band UWB notch antenna. A rectangular slot is cut into a semicircular partial ground plane of the antenna to achieve ultrawide bandwidth.

Ogt controls neural stem/progenitor cell pool and adult neurogenesis through modulating Notch signaling

open access: yesCell Reports, 2021
Summary: Ogt catalyzed O-linked N-acetylglucosamine (O-GlcNAcylation, O-GlcNAc) plays an important function in diverse biological processes and diseases. However, the roles of Ogt in regulating neurogenesis remain largely unknown.

A method to culture human alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma cell lines as rhabdospheres demonstrates an enrichment in stemness and Notch signaling

open access: yesBiology Open, 2021
The development of three-dimensional cell culture techniques has allowed cancer researchers to study the stemness properties of cancer cells in in vitro culture.

Seismic Periodic Noise Attenuation Based on Sparse Representation Using a Noise Dictionary

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
Periodic noise is a well-known problem in seismic exploration, caused by power lines, pump jacks, engine operation, or other interferences. It contaminates seismic data and affects subsequent processing and interpretation.

Notch signaling sustains the expression of Mcl-1 and the activity of eIF4E to promote cell survival in CLL [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
In chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), Notch1 and Notch2 signaling is constitutively activated and contributes to apoptosis resistance. We show that genetic inhibition of either Notch1 or Notch2, through small-interfering RNA, increases apoptosis of CLL ...

Stomaching Notch [PDF]

open access: yesThe EMBO Journal, 2015
The self‐renewal and differentiation of tissue stem cells must be tightly controlled. Unrestrained self‐renewal leads to over‐proliferation of stem cells, which may cause tumor formation, while uncontrolled differentiation leads to depletion of the stem cell pool.

Experimental Quantification of the Fatigue Stress Concentrator on Mig Butt Welded S355 Steel Specimen [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions of the VŠB-Technical University of Ostrava, Mechanical Series, 2013
Joining components by welding is the most widespread method of joining for metal structures. For this reason, fatigue strength assessment of welded joints is of great interest to engineers involved in structure design.

Cross Interaction between M2 Muscarinic Receptor and Notch1/EGFR Pathway in Human Glioblastoma Cancer Stem Cells: Effects on Cell Cycle Progression and Survival

open access: yesCells, 2020
Glioblastomas (GBM) are the most aggressive form of primary brain tumors in humans. A key feature of malignant gliomas is their cellular heterogeneity. In particular, the presence of an undifferentiated cell population of defined Glioblastoma Stem cells (

Fracture Load Estimations for U-Notched and V-Notched 3D Printed PLA and Graphene-Reinforced PLA plates using the ASED Criterion

open access: yesFracture and Structural Integrity, 2023
This paper addresses the estimation of critical loads in FFF (Fused Filament Fabrication) printed polymers and composites containing notches. Particularly, the analysis is focused on the fracture load estimations of 39 PLA (polylactic acid) and 39 ...

Notches. [PDF]

open access: yesAmerican Economic Review, 1984
Economists have an instinctively negative reaction to any government program that creates a "notch," that is, a discontinuity in a budget constraint. For example, welfare programs like public housing are structured so that a finite lump of benefits is lost all at once when a household's income crosses a certain threshhold.
