Community participation agreements: a model for welfare reform from community-based research [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Summary In its June 2001 budget, the Federal Government announced a new framework for welfare reform, Australians Working Together. One component of the framework is the proposed development of Community Participation Agreements in remote Indigenous ...

Plasma neuropeptide Y levels in medication naive adolescents with major depressive disorder

open access: yesPsychiatry and Clinical Psychopharmacology, 2021
Objective: Neuropeptide Y (NPY) has been implicated in pathophysiology of anxiety and depression. It was proposed that NPY counteracts corticotropin-releasing factor-mediated stress effects to maintain emotional regulation.

Influence of Asymmetry on the Molecular and Electronic Structures of μ‐Oxo Diferric Complexes

open access: yesZeitschrift für anorganische und allgemeine Chemie, Volume 652, Issue 2, 5 February 2026.
The 6‐methyl substituents at the pyridines (shown in red) enforce longer MNpy bonds than without them (shown in green). The asymmetric dinucleating susanH2Me2 is used for the synthesis of a μ‐oxo diferric complex. Comparison to the two symmetric complexes of susan and susan6−Me shows a strong effect on the redox potentials.

Vildagliptin and Omarigliptin Differentially Bind to DPP‐4 Homodimers and Modulate Osteoclast‐Mediated Bone Resorption

open access: yesComprehensive Physiology, Volume 16, Issue 1, February 2026.
Vildagliptin and omarigliptin, dipeptidyl peptidase‐4 (DPP‐4) inhibitors, have differential effects on bone cells. Although vildagliptin improved the bone microstructure of high‐fat diet‐fed rats, it was unable to downregulate osteoclastogenesis or the expression of key osteoclast transcripts.

The emerging role of CAMK1D in diabetes, metabolism and feeding behaviours: A mechanistic systematic review

open access: yesClinical and Translational Discovery, Volume 6, Issue 1, February 2026.
This systematic review synthesizes evidence from published studies, GWAS and grey literature (patents) to show that CAMK1D is implicated in diabetes, obesity, insulin resistance and altered feeding behaviours, with diagnostic potential and mechanistic relevance through regulatory binding and tissue‐specific effects.

Neuro‐Immune Crosstalk: Molecular Mechanisms, Biological Functions, Diseases, and Therapeutic Targets

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 2, February 2026.
Neurons, immune cells, and other cellular components within the disease microenvironment (such as stromal cells and tumor cells) constitute a dynamically evolving ecosystem. Neurons directly modulate immune cell activity and inflammatory responses through the release of neurotransmitters (e.g., norepinephrine and CGRP), while also promoting tumor ...

Sympathetic NPY controls glucose homeostasis, cold tolerance, and cardiovascular functions in mice

open access: yesCell Reports
Summary: Neuropeptide Y (NPY) is best known for its effects in the brain as an orexigenic and anxiolytic agent and in reducing energy expenditure. NPY is also co-expressed with norepinephrine (NE) in sympathetic neurons.
