A Robust Strategy for Introducing Amino‐Modifiers in Nucleic Acids: Enabling Novel Amino Tandem Oligonucleotide Synthesis in DNA and RNA

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
We report a simple, efficient, and cost‐effective methodology for introducing amino‐modifiers into DNA and RNA using a commercially available solid support. By incorporating a base‐labile sulfonyl linker within the strand, we developed an amino‐containing tandem oligonucleotide synthesis (aTOS) methodology, which enables the introduction of multiple ...

Mediated Electrochemical Oxidation of Nucleosides to Their 5′‐Carboxylic Acid Derivatives

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Sweet oxidation method: A mediated electrochemical oxidation method has been developed that enables selective oxidation of the nucleosides and ribosugars to afford the 5′‐carboxylic acid derivatives. The method tolerates each of the nucleobases and various protecting group variations.

Light‐responsive mononucleotide coacervates

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Accepted Article.
Liquid‐liquid phase separation (LLPS) is central to the formation of biomolecular condensates in modern cells and is also explored as a mechanism for assembling protocells. Phase‐separated droplets provide dynamic micro‐environments that concentrate reactants, enhance reactions, and allow molecular exchange, essential for both cellular regulation and ...

The structure of His‐tagged Geobacillus stearothermophilus purine nucleoside phosphorylase reveals a `spanner in the works'

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section F, Volume 78, Issue 12, Page 416-422, December 2022., 2022
The structure of Geobacillus stearothermophilus purine nucleoside phosphorylase, an enzyme of biocatalytic interest, is reported and was found to include the presence of an N‐terminal tag in the active site of each subunit that belongs to the other subunit in each dimer.

Ligand Screening and Discovery Using Cocktail Soaking and Automated Microcrystal Electron Diffraction

open access: yesChemMedChem, EarlyView.
Cocktail soaking using single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction allows high‐throughput crystallographic ligand screening against protein targets. However, protein microcrystals are not amenable to this approach. Herein, a workflow integrating cocktail soaking with automated microcrystal electron diffraction to allow rapid ligand screening, structure ...
