Impact of Astaxanthin Concentration in Extender on Sperm Kinetics and Lipid Peroxidation After Cryopreservation in Beef Bulls

Reproduction in Domestic Animals, Volume 61, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Cellular damage caused by changes in temperature and osmolarity during cryopreservation primarily results in excessive generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS). These damages compromise the plasma membrane and reduce sperm fertility. Antioxidants help mitigate these effects.

Communication between Porphyrin Rings in the Butadiyne-Bridged Dimer Ni(OEP)(μ-C₄)Ni(OEP):  A Density Functional Study

The electronic structure and spectra of a family of nickel porphyrin complexes are analyzed using approximate density functional theory (DFT). The three complexes, Ni(OEP), Ni(OEP-CSiMe), and Ni(OEP)(μ-C)Ni(OEP) represent a logical increase in complexity starting from a simple metalloporphyrin.
